The Sherwood — Restaurant in Preston

Went 15/04/2022 for my nephews birthday. Told 1 hour wait as busy … fair enough it was Easter Friday. Ordered 3 starters arrived no side plates so nowhere to put eaten wings. Went to bar to ask for side plates (5mim wait). This is where things really went down hill. Mains arrived and I’d ordered double chilli burger. Burger arrived with no chips so I found the waiter and told him this and he told me there were none as it was a vegan burger. Told him I didn’t order vegan burger. He went to kitchen and came back few minutes later with a dish of chips and assured me apart from the chips my meal was correct and real beef burger and left . Bit into burger and I’m made aware it was not real beef and was vegan beef( also no onion rings or cheese sauce) so either the waiter or chef was lying. This was very dangerous as I’d advised staff on arrival that I was allergic to some seeds and grains (which are found in veg burgers)Back to bar where I waited 5 min for young girl to serve me and explained this. She advised me to wait a min while she checked my order on till as she is doing 100 things at once. She confirmed I’d order chill burger but kitchen closing down (at 730pm)and I can have refund for my main if I wanted(which I advised didn’t want refund). Another lady who seemed more senior came over and I explained situation and she came to my table and confirmed my burger was vegan and order wrong . Advised me she would get kitchen to get my correct order but might take 10 min or so . Nephew finished his meal before my meal arrived and was pestering me for dessert so I went and ordered . Senior lady advised me his desert was on house which I appreciated . My meal arrived as nephew finishing desert and this time no cheese sauce or onion rings or knife and folk . Back to bar for 5 min wait to tell same young lady this . Advised kitchen were opening a bag to make onion rings then walked off no apology . 15 min later still no onion rings so left half my meal and left . Very unhappy after spending over 40 pounds. I used to work in the industry and understand mistakes can be made but to get the second order with missing items is a joke. I was calm and polite but intentionally or not I was made to feel like an awkward customer which I’m not . Also can’t of been closing as before I left I saw people ordering food well after my order so somebody lying again . When I got home Made a complaint on sizzler web complaints and few weeks no reply made an over complaint 3 weeks ago still no reply . So they are obviously not bothered . I’m not after a free meal as you couldn’t pay me to eat there again I was just hoping they would train there staff in the dangers of food allergies and...

Would of given more stars if it was the same experience as my partner and i had at the sister pub "the highfield" just a complete let down. Came with my partner and my stepdaughter and bump came to have some good food. As we know the sister pub "the highfield' is really good and good customer service.we thought it would be the same.

We was wrong, we came in bit difficult to understand which door to come in by. Finally found a way into the restaurant, the only tables free to sit at they was all dirty hadn't been cleaned. We sat at the table and moved everything near the end.

If it wasn't for the food arriving quick and alright tasting good. My partner asked for vegan cheese as I have gestational diabetes due to being pregnant, they didn't have. So my partner said if can have half a slice due to it gives me heart burn if too much. When the food arrived the guy who came with our food was quite rude, and they didn't put half a slice on and put alot on. So completely ignored what my partner said.

I asked the waitor if it was possible to have the table cleared as it was dirty and they wasn't our cups and cutlery, which he just looked at me like I was stupid, I had to ask several times, he then took them, my partner had to ask again for clean cutlery. At this point my partner went back up to the bar to order corn on the cobb and some onions. In the time with my partner being at the bar the same waitor came over with our food just put them on the table and literally chucked clean cutlery into the silver cutlery pot with the dirty ones from the table before us, causing my baby to literally jump from the bang as I said he did it from a height and walked off. Was absolutely disgusted in the customer service from him. My partner then had to ask for clean cutlery as it had been mixed. After 10 minutes after finishing my food, waiting longer for the corn on the cobb and onion rings Finally turned up to which the corn on the cobb had no butter and the onion rings wasn't that great. Which again my partner had to get the butter.

Not once did we get how is everything with our foods, like you would normally expect from going out for food.

My partner and my self definitely won't be coming back to this place again. I do think the waitor who servied us needs to change his attitude. Disgusting to say the least as I have said I am pregnant and made...

Went to the Sherwood for the first time tonight...on arrival outside looks inviting but the insides an instant disappointment.The decor looks tired and the food rooms very dated...almost like youre eating in your living room with the big light on. The first person we met was a very sour faced bar man that was monotone, not at all friendly and did not smile or hold any expression except solemn and angry looking . After checking if we both felt like burdens, my friend asked him to smile but he ignored her and didnt. It made us very uncomfortable and was definately not a great first impression. The restaurant section was dull and uninviting...much like the bar man and looked tired and grubby. The prices were reasonable and i sownloaded a voucher that meant i got a free drink which was nice. The food took quite a while to arrive. 20 mins after ordering Mr solemn advised us that my friend could not have her gluten option as due to staff shortages the frying oil hadnt been changed so instead she had to opt for a jacket potato that arrived dry with no butter. We asked for butter which was provided but the presentation of the meal was poor and looked very drab. The man seated next to us complained about his meal and was given an alternative but he left dissatisfied. My friend and i both chose bbq chicken...with sides of corn on the cob. The chicken dish was alright although the salad id opted for didnt have any dressing and was very plain. Both sides of corn cobs were inedible...i can only think they were microwaved from frozen as they were sloppy and impossible to cut from the stalk...turned to mush really... We both left them. we will not ne eating there again, not even with coupons, discounts or vouchers.. Very poor service and food although the girl at the bar who took the food order was pleasant and helpful...the best bit...
