Eastern Choice — Restaurant in Reading

I moved here a year ago and use this take away twice a week and have never had a problem. The portions have always been so generous and the food delicious. The staff are always polite and professional. I have absolutely no doubt, that if any of the reviewers who gave a bad review walked into the take away to calmly and politely raise an issue, the staff would have tried to make it right for them. It's much easier to post a bad review and try to harm a business than to give them the oppurtunity to correct any problem. I recommend their chips! Yes you get some crunchy ones in your portion but that's true of any old skool chippy! The chow miens are perfect and huge! Anyway ... Local resident and I consider myself lucky to have this take away nearby. UPDATE 9/6/2021 - Eastern Choice continue to provide an excellent service. I placed my order in person and then went to get cash next door at the ATM only to find I had not transferred money to my main account. Owner trusted me to go sort it and return. Food was waiting for me, piping hot and as usual it was delicious! Thank you! ..... Whilst I am here I would like to ask Vikki Jane who left a bad review a very simple question. If you were so "worried" when you entered, why did you stay and order food? - Completely irrational. Next question to the Rochelle who said they had a fly on the outside of their take away box, maybe you can explain why you then opened the box and ate the food anyway if you were so horrified. Another review that makes no sense at all. If a logical person walks into a take away and considers it so worrying, you would not continue to order food and eat it. If a fly on the outside of your take away packaging was so off putting, you wouldn't then open the sealed food and eat it. In my opinion these are nonsensical malicious reviews! I have frequent this restaurant every other week since the new management took over. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional! The staff are super friendly and attentive to my requests, shop is clean and smelled good (fragrant Asian cooking) and most importantly, the fish and chips are to die for (the fish and chips are cooked to perfection with satisfying crunch balanced with the perfect taste, i can eat this all day long).

The menu selections are extensive and covers a variety of authentic Asian dishes (in case you want to get something other than fish and chips). Another aspect which I loved about this stall is the quantity on top of its quality, you will definitely get more than what you paid for, superb affordability.

I have recommended this place to several friends within my close circle and they are generally amazed with the food and service provided. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food (quantity and quality) and service are absolutely amazing.

Last left a review about 18 months ago... here to update! The staff have done an excellent job taking over from the previous manageress, whom I personally miss speaking too, I hope she is doing well. The food is amazing, I am never disappointed. Portion size is generous, food always fresh and hot. Staff always greet you with a smile.
