I really love tucked away foodie gems and The Grove Cafe in Reading is one of them!! The area looks “dodgy” but don’t let that put you off. The best sign for a “good food joint” it’s a consistent foot fall…. This little place has it in buckets. We ordered breakfast and two large Cappuccino’s. The coffee is great and doesn’t need sugar! The food was served speedily, HOT and fresh. Everything tasted amazing and there was no old oil taste. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The cherry on the cake was the cost £19:95 for 2 number 29 breakfasts and 2 large Cappuccino’s… BARGAIN!!! My only criticism would be the shop is super quiet. It needs a little music/radio just to cut through the deafening silence.

Okay if you want a cheap full breakfast for £6. However, the food is bland, presented well but it’s a shame the taste doesn’t match. Scrambled eggs are runny and tasteless, small portion of beans, hash brown was over cooked. The owners were nice enough, decor is okay, place likes clean, a lot of local customers.they really need to review the feedback and enhance the taste of the food. Prices are cheap but I don’t think I’d go back. Nice atmosphere but the order they gave me was wrong, rectified it, so not a problem.

My son took me for breakfast here last Sunday an we were both pleased with how nice the breakfast was all cooked just right nothing under or over cooked and it was very clean and very well presented.Willl definitely be going back and will be trying something off of their menu for lunch.

Dined in On 29.08.21 (Sunday)

The food was well presented and timely bought to our table. The coffee was moderate in taste with good cup size.

The food was flavoursome with a good portion size of variety of things on the plate (Jumbo breakfast with Fried Egg).

Asked modification which they were happy to accommodate.

Wished there was options for Juices as not everyone might want to have tea/coffee with breakfast.

The waitress was very friendly and upbeat making small talk and making sure everything was good with the food and the service.

Definitely recommend some more organisation in terms of back...

Got to be the worse cafe I've ever eaten in. Bacon was cremated, sausages were cheap and over cooked, hash browns tasted like 400 year oil, which ironically is still younger than the clearly refilled "heinz" ketchup bottles that litter the tables. The teas looked like they have drops off oil floating in them. The worse part is completely solid fried eggs. For a cafe to mess up the basic breakfast when we are the only people in the place speaks volumes - HORRENDOUS- AVOID unless you can afford a week off work with food poisoning. Only decent thing to come out of this place...
