I really love tucked away foodie gems and The Grove Cafe in Reading is one of them!! The area looks “dodgy” but don’t let that put you off. The best sign for a “good food joint” it’s a consistent foot fall…. This little place has it in buckets. We ordered breakfast and two large Cappuccino’s. The coffee is great and doesn’t need sugar! Bacon was cremated, sausages were cheap and over cooked, hash browns tasted like 400 year oil, which ironically is still younger than the clearly refilled "heinz" ketchup bottles that litter the tables. The teas looked like they have drops off oil floating in them. The worse part is completely solid fried eggs. For a cafe to mess up the basic breakfast when we are the only people in the place speaks volumes - HORRENDOUS- AVOID unless you can afford a week off work with food poisoning. Only decent thing to come out of this place...
