I am disappointed with the service at Chillies at Tattenham Corner. We were met with a lack of accommodation and, to make matters worse, the gentleman behind the bar was condescending. I have a Nut Allergy, and when we inquired about avoiding dishes containing nuts, one of the employees expressed concerns about cross-contamination due to the spices being sourced from India, which I appreciated as a valid concern for my safety and theirs. However, the man behind the bar then sarcastically suggested I could "just have chips." and laughed. We immediately left and went to another nearby Indian restaurant, where we received exceptional service and they went above and beyond to ensure my meal was nut-free. First order from chillies for a while and although the food is good, I have a bad impression because of the delivery service. I gave the driver £30 in 3 £10’s for a £23 order and the driver said “thank you very much” and began to walk away. I stupidly felt silly calling him back to double check if I had heard the price correctly to which he called out £24, like I was being cheap in asking for my change. I’m all for giving a tip but didn’t like how the driver assumed that the additional £7 was his tip, especially as that’s nearly a third of my total dinner cost… nonetheless I let him have it, just made me think twice about...
