Ate here on a Saturday evening in a nice outdoor area but that was the only positive thing about this restaurant. We were stood at the door for five minutes with members of staff whizzing round but not welcoming us to the restaurant. We were then taken through a very messy and cluttered restaurant to our seats outside. Once we were seated we were browsing the menu (there is quite a large choice of food), a member of staff asked if we were ready to order and we asked politely for one more minute to decide. His reply "You need to get out!". After a discussion he clarified that we only had two hours for the table but we felt he was quite rude. This frostiness continued when he took our food order. I ordered the mushroom risotto which cost £14 and was disappointed after it came out of the kitchen 5-10 minutes later (surely not made fresh) and it was very below par. It had no taste and the peas were like bullets, I have had better ready meals. My partner did enjoy her Clam Spaghetti however again this didn't appear to be made fresh. After our meal we were only halfway through our drinks when they plonked the bill on the table, we felt very rushed and unwelcome when we wanted to have a nice evening out. They also put a 10% service charge on our bill, which we asked to take off as we thought they were actually quite rude throughout our time there. We wouldn't go here again and would advise others...
Read moreOh dear, what a disappointment. We were really looking forward to our evening out with a group of friends. Shame we were placed so close to another large party that the seating was very cramped. The gamberoni starters were cold and there was an additional £4 supplement, which was excessive as there were only four small ones on the plate! The main meal was cold and my husband sent his back. Apparently some of the other meals were the same but they didn’t say anything so just left their food. Desserts mediocre but the Christmas pudding was a joke, just a tiny rectangle with a pot of cold custard. Very disappointing and I honestly don’t know what everyone raves about. Trying to pay the bill was farcical. We literally had to queue up and go through everything we’d had so they could add it up. This took ages and was very unprofessional for such a large restaurant. We were surprised at the cost of our meal and wine especially as it was so disappointing. However, on a good note the...
Read moreFirst time visit didn’t even get passed the front door before I was told the Kitchens were closed until 6, hadn’t even asked me what I wanted. As I went in the Garden got told the same thing by another member of staff. I said this is not a good start as I only wanted a beer and a glass of wine, for some reason she gave me a Breakfast Menu, I said I didn’t know you could have Breakfast at 3.30 in the afternoon. You can’t was the answer only what at the bottom of the menu card, so I put it more bluntly, did I ask for food, ummm... no! Now they might have had a busy day, however making customers feel welcome is paramount to a business survival. There is a old saying still as true today ‘you never get a second chance to make a first impression’ so take heed, Ciao Italia Bansted ‘The way we greet Customers or fail too, sets an irreversible path of leaving potential customers feeling unwelcome even if that wasn’t...
