Went here for dinner and it was fabulous with a buzzy atmosphere and an interesting menu. I was extra excited when I discovered I could have an entire meal for nil weight watchers points! 😁 I had salmon with crispy lentils and beans. It was delicious. Pleased to see plenty of options to suit different dietary needs without fuss. We shared a tasting platter of deserts which had brownies, ice cream, pastel de nata, etc. What's not to like.
There was a lady playing guitar and singing which was nice and added to the atmosphere on a warm summery evening. I felt like I was on holiday. The service was good and friendly.
I liked it much we decided to stop by the next day to break up a shopping trip. What a different experience. We sat down at am empty table outside and got a telling off! We should have waited to be seated we were told as it said on the sign - but the sign was inside the restaurant so we hadn't seen it. So they knew we were there. It then took another 25 mins to be asked for our order - I asked. And really quite an age to bring it. And another age for the bill. I went inside to pay but was sent away to wait outside. It was busy but not heaving - but really disorganised. Such a shame.
We had strawberry milkshakes which were lovely. A tale...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant today. The food was outrageously overpriced for what it was, failing to justify the high cost in any conceivable way.
To make matters worse, the restaurant employs a rather coercive and misleading payment system. They ask customers to pay via a QR code on their phone, which automatically includes an extortionate 12.5% service charge. This "optional" service charge cannot be removed unless you specifically call a waiter, a process that feels intentionally cumbersome as most people won't go through the hassle of asking for it to be taken off.
What is even more deceptive is that after reluctantly agreeing to this service charge, the system then asks if you want to add an additional tip over and above the service charge already being paid. This practice is downright manipulative and leaves a very sour taste. It’s evident that this restaurant views its customers merely as cash machines rather than valued patrons.
Overall, I felt exploited and will not be returning to this restaurant. If you value your hard-earned money and a straightforward dining experience, I strongly recommend...

The food itself was decent – the steak and eggs were cooked nicely, the potatoes had a good crisp to them, and the black pudding was rich in flavour. The smoothie was fresh and enjoyable, with a pleasant balance of fruit and crunch from the toppings. Presentation was also attractive. There appears to be a wasp issues and had to move table (personally I like a wasp free taste with my steak and eggs). This is quick fix with insect repellent so not all negative.
However, for the portion size and simplicity of the dishes, the prices were frankly extortionate. The additional black pudding nearly £4 was not what I was expecting. What really left a sour taste was the unexpected service charge, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere before sitting down. To be automatically charged extra without any clear indication upon entering feels misleading and unfair.
For two people for brunch with a drink was £60 ( I hope Sienna our waitress recieved the charge because she was very polite and efficient 10/10 for her.
See photos… if you paid nearly £30 for this would...
