Although I have eaten at Prezzo's a few times before. I am leaving my review for them this time as I was completely let down by the lack of a welcoming service. My husband and I stopped by to see if there was a table free last Friday night. When we entered there was no one at the entrance where the reservations are made. We waited for 5 minutes and could clearly see a waitress with long blonde hair in a ponytail cleaning glasses. She had definitely seen us but continued with her job. We assumed that if this was not her responsibility that someone else would come forwards from within the restaurant which is set back slightly. We continued to wait, we saw a waitress and a lady who I believe is the manageress talking within the restaurant, but they did not glance up and see that we were waiting and now also another lady had come in behind us. I tried to catch the lady with the blonde hair's eye or the waitresses within the restaurant but I could not. Finally the lady with the long blonde hair came out without a smile or greeting. She just looked at me inquisitively. I explained that we'd been waiting for some time trying to catch someone's eye and she did not apologise, which would have just been good manners, I said we were looking for a table for two, she said "Is it a walk in?". I said yes but by this time was really unenthused in staying at the restaurant. In fact my husband and I were so "not in the mood" for our Friday night out at Prezzos that we said thank you very much to the waitress and turned and left. We went to the Woolpack and had a fantastic meal with great atmosphere and service. Prezzos has the potential to be very good. When we have eaten there before the food has been nice and the manageress has been very attentive once we've been seated. Prezzos really need to work on the greeting of their customers and possibly set up some way of them being able to alert the staff to the fact that people...
Read moreWe booked and took advantage of the 99p meal. We were told that to have this deal we would need to order a drink, which we did.
When asked for the bill we could see that an extra amount had been added, on closer inspection we saw that we were charged 4.95 for drinks instead of 3.95. We queried this with the waitress who was helpful and stated our menu was not a up to date one, but would speak to the manager.
The manager appeared and told us in no terms would she refund or change the bill despite the discrepancy in prices. Quite frankly I was shocked and upset by her abrupt attitude, as someone who has worked in retail, giving the stated price that is displayed is a must. But she continued to argue with us, stating you needed to buy a drink, which we had, refusing to take on board that it was just a different price then stated in the menu.
Though i appreciate that there is a difference of £2, it was in fact the principle as if you over charged every customer by £2 that would certainly be a profit margin!
It was not our fault that the menu was out of date, and we were made to feel like we were making a fuss unnecessarily, making us feel embarrassed because we queried a small amount.
Our cheap meal was now ruined and i wont be returning for...
Read moreVisited this place today and would not be going back nor recommended this franchise. This place is a total rip off - all off their dishes are extremely over priced. We ordered a
garlic bread is £4.50 which was half the size of what you'd get from dominos, tasted the same penne arabiatta - the pasta dish itself is £8.50 which is fine. BUT we asked them to add some veggies (some onions, peppers, mushrooms) and extra chilis (the description of the dish is that its meant to he made with chili and we asked for more) - we were charged a pound each for the toppings and twice as we had two pastas. For £8 (which is just what the extras cost us) I could have purchased enough veggies to last a week if not more. What's more infuriating is at the time of taking the order they never mentioned this would be at an additional charge. Everywhere else the restaurants have obliged to similar asks at no extra cost house fries - for £4 we got a portion that was smaller than the small size at McDonald's and pretty much tasted the same cheesecake - we got a small slice for £7
In all £52 for two for a meal that just tasted ok. There are far better options out there for Italian food,...
