Sea Salt — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

I went to Sea Salt Fish & Chips on a Sat lunchtime & was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I am gluten intolerant & have to be careful. I asked the helpful staff if they did GF batter, answer was yes. I ordered battered haddock & chips, my son plaice, chips & mushy peas, my wife ordered calamari. While we waited to be served at our monogram carved table I noted that the surroundings were clean, well decorated & stylish. Lots of people were also visiting for takeaway. Our food arrived & polite waiter asked if we needed any more condiments etc. but everything we needed was already there. Salt & pepper grinders a nice touch. My wife & son loved their food which was very fresh, hot & crispy batter. I was really pleased to see my haddock had best batter I've had for years. You see without gluten to hold it together batter is very hard to make, usually hardly any coating or it falls off. The fish was also very fresh & piping hot to the table. As you can tell I recommend this restaurant to all. I especially recommend any gluten intolerant or coeliacs try this restaurant with bookable tables as they are rare finds for us. Oh with soft drinks bill was £36, I feel reasonable. I'll be visiting...

Huge portions even for standard so quite often I struggle to finish. Very popular on a Friday so do expect a queue. The fish is lovely cooked just right and cooked to.oder so has a nice fresh taste. Staff are always friendly always nd great with kids to. They will also accept phone orders. Just recently it was cash only so not sure if this a recent change or just a blip with there card reader. Parking is a bit tricky Certainly the best fish and chips in Reigate and Redhill

14/11/20 last few times this has gone down hill. Old batter and chips taste like been in old oil. Fish and chips here are fairly expensive but normally worth it. Whether with covid they have become more busy with the take away I am not sure. Shall prob leave it for a while. Normally by 4 or 5 portions with work and unfortunately not just my opinion. A colleague ordered curry sauce but got mushy...

Great food, staff & atmosphere! Absolutely love this family run takeaway! Top quality fish & chips made to order, efficient service & popular among us locals so get your phone orders in early on busy Fri & Sat night's! Or be prepared to wait a little...it's totally worth it though!

Possibility of dining in too and you can bring your own alcohol for a corkage fee. Also have gluten free options which is amazing & my fav! Gluten free at a fish & chip shop...just fab!

Personable staff who took time to find out a bit about me and who always meet me with a familiar greeting every time I go! My family & friends wish they all had a Sea Salt near them after trying their food! Just try it...
