Deli-H — Restaurant in Rochdale

I’m all for supporting small businesses but I came away from here feeling robbed and disappointed especially for what I had which was a Managers special festive baguette which was quite overpriced for what it was. Don’t get me wrong, the food was nice but it just didn’t touch the sides and I came away hungry. The day before I went to a well known bakery and had the Christmas baguette and it was bigger, was more packed, had more ingredients and it was less than half the price that I paid for the sandwich here.

Soon as I stepped in the door I was getting asked what I wanted before I even knew what they had on the menu. Again, nice people, I just didn’t get the vibe there or feel comfortable what so ever. I went in there to chill out but literally the sandwich was gone after a few bites, no music and just felt like I was getting watched.

I don’t like leaving reviews as such but it’s just an honest opinion and giving my honest views from my own experience hoping businesses take in to account customers that come away feeling disappointed. When it comes to money, and value of item/food or what ever it is, you want to feel like you had your money’s worth and I just didn’t. Sorry.

I also asked for a certain bread (a brown baguette) and they didn’t have any so I even settled for a white one which I didn’t want.

I have been going to this deli for a few months ths now and I absolutely love it but yesterday I went and got a considerably smaller sandwich than usual, I went back in told them I didn't expect my money back or another sandwich but wanted to know why it wasn't a fat sandwich like I usually get, and like they advertise. This was met with attitude from the manager saying they couldn't have fit any more on it and because I only got a half it shouldn't be as fat (I was under the impression that half was just half the length, not half the length and half the filling, and they can clearly fit way more on as the pictures show). One picture is of the biggest sandwich I've had and the other is yesterday's. I absolutely love this place I would definitely give 5 star if it wasn't for this, I didn't even mind having a small sandwich as a one off because I was hungover and wouldn't have eaten a usual size one anyway but I didn't appreciate the way the manager spoke to me. Sandwiches tasty but are on the pricey side (and apparently prices sometimes made up, having got the same sandwich 5 times at 3 different prices, questioned it and asked for it to be made clearer on the menu's and just got a 'snarky' remark back!). The hoagies have definitely reduced in size over the last year without a price reduction, this is more on the bread size, which means you end up with less filling. Service is definitely hit and miss and seems dependant on who serves you, sometimes good, sometimes awful with a long wait (and with a side of attitude added in).
