Went in on the 8/2/25 to order food. Partner went to the bar to order. She asked for peas with the kids fish meal and was told you can’t do this in a very rude manner. My partner tried to explain to the staff member that it is possible on the app but the staff member was then extremely rude. This made my partner cry at the bar and the manager stepped in.
My partner returned to the table crying due to the behaviour and eventually the manager came back over and gave us our money back. He reiterated that the staff members was right to be anbusive and make my partner cry.
When attempting to leave I asked the manager if if there was a camera aimed at the bar as I was putting in a SARS for all my data. He confirmed there was but I am not allowed to do this breaching GDPR rules by attempting to deny me my data (I’ve submitted one via the official email)
At this point the same member of staff arcane over whilst I was attempting to leave and started again whilst the manager was stood there.
I asked nicely for her not to get involved as we were trying to leave. This was. Denied and both the manager and the staff member then proceeded to shout at myself and my partner following us along the bar.
He then accused me of swearing at his staff members which I DID NOT DO and said there is no audio on the cameras so it doesn’t matter.
After being chased up the bar by both shouting at us at least 4 times he then asked us to leave (we were trying to but him and his staff member wanted to continually shout at us).
How can a staff member be so rude as to make a customer cry, give us our money back for the disgusting behaviour then chase us up the bar when trying to leave berating us.
As management he should have managed the situation asking his staff members not to get involved whilst I was taking to him but instead he felt it necessary to allow it then join in like a pack of hyenas circles a kill.
I’ve never experienced such disgusting treatment in all my life.
At the end they changed their narrative in order to try age safe face but there is no excuse for making a...
Read moreTrue to often naming a Wetherspoon's after someone from or significant to, the local area, the Harbord Harbord is named after the 1st Baron Suffield. His connection to Middleton was that he married Mary Assheton, dau. of sir Ralph Assheton & she was not only born and baptised in Middleton she inherited her fathers Middleton estate on his death. This made H.Harbord Lord of the Manor. Other than that, his repeated uncommon name no doubt makes it more interesting and more easily remembered! The H.Harbord is located in a row of shops on Long St and is pretty standard for a Wetherspoons. There is a long bar area, two coffee machines (towards the back) and the toilets are on the ground floor. There's no second floor though the seating is split between a few lower level tables & the others on a slightly raised area. As there is only a single floor, it can get rather busy depending on the...
Read moreWe are 4 mature ladies who visit Harboard Harboard in Middleton regularly . 3 of us today had the Christmas meal and was very disappointed there was no roast potatoes and Brussels sprouts . We all felt it wasn’t value for money. We feel the quality of food served at Wetherspoons has gone down in value . A few weeks ago we had the steak special on a Tuesday and the steak was all Gristle and we had asked for one to be well done and it came with blood showing . To be fair the manager did refund us for both the food and drinks we purchased but are seriously considering to find somewhere else for our Ladies lunch . Unfortunately the cheap drinks didn’t compensate...
