KFC Rotherham - Manvers Way — Restaurant in Rotherham

So when I was younger KFC or Southern fried chicken used to be a treat, these days fast-food outlets have become a convenience. The recipe doesn't quite taste as good as years ago or maybe the memories were just better. Anyway in relation to the order we decided to eat in as we're not familiar with menu as had been months since had something similar. This wasn't our local branch but we decided to try it on recommendation as our local one is very hit and miss in terms of food quality and service despite still being KFC. I think that's also one of the negative things in general the food quality and service can be inconsistent from branch to branch. On entering here the atmosphere was busy but thankfully not too busy we most have avoided kids end of school run thankfully. We chose to order off the digital menu boards I found it easy enough taking my time, my friend was thankful I did this as he mentioned he found it difficult to see the menu print . I did see however someone order direct with staff rarther than the digital selection etc. The payment was taken by card and order number given. If you want to pay cash I think you need to order direct with staff. The tables were nicely spaced out. Average in terns of being clean would have liked to have seen a member of staff wiping tables down more often etc. I didn't use the toilets. The food I ordered a wrap meal with extra dips and chose regular size and coffee. My Friend ordered a zinger tower meal large. The food was quick about 5 mins. The temperature as it should be. The chicken ok I would have liked it cooked a little longer and still think the coating should be more crispy. I prefer option of a wrap as am not keen on burgerbuns. My Friend commented it was first time the bread seemed fresh previously from different KFC he had had the bread just fall apart ie stale bread. Overall the meal was better than expected but the portion size of the chips was poor. As was the side order of beans. Not sure if you can size up for those options. There was no forks to eat with only spoons so not great . The coffee was OK but nothing special. The total meal came to about £17 + which I thought was expensive for what it was. Overall it served its purpose the food was quick, enjoyed and saved us cooking. Hopefully the consistency will be same if we return again. The service was polite I did however feel bit uneasy about some of the members of staff appearance in terms of hygiene mainly the males perhaps that's just a teenage 🤔 thing lol. Terrible visit every time we go. The staff just expect everyone to use the screens to order now, but sometimes we use cash and want to order at the desk. Staff all just gawk at you every time one of them emerges from the kitchen. Nobody will say a word to you like "we'll be with you in a moment" or anything. You just stand there hoping and wondering. It's a similar experience to a zoo and you're the visitor staring into the meerkat enclosure and all the meerkats are staring back wondering what you're doing looking at them. And don't even bother ordering a krushem for extra money because the machine is made by McDonald's apparently and is always broken. Once did that and the woman only said it after she'd handed the food over and said "we've given you a large pepsi instead". I told her no, I want a refund for the extra cost for the krushem. A large pepsi is not the same price as a krushem.

I have to say today was the worst experience I've ever had at KFC Manvers. 45 minutes for a £33.00 food order it really is at treat at that price. Never again. Staff too busy serving Just Eat and delivery drivers not the people in the shop. They served that many there was a wait on chicken. One guy asked for a refund after 30 mins and I would have done the same if we wasn't treating our Granchildren. People sat in cars one was 45 mins. Two young girls waiting 30 mins for 2 drinks?? Cold food being sent back from the car park. The shop was a disgrace. The bin was overflowing. I worked in Catering for 18 years so I know how hard they work, so they were either understaffed, inexperienced or just hating their job. If some of my previous manager had seen the bin how it was there would have been hell on. Sort it out KFC £33 of dissapointment...
