Khans Khazana — Restaurant in Rotherham

We have been placing orders from this cafe regularly for around a year now. Even when family have come to visit from far we have placed orders as we cannot fault the quality of the food and the rating above does not reflect this. However multiple times orders were late, items were cold, tea had once been spilt on my husbands hand during delivery but despite this we let things go as this is a small local family business. Unfortunately recent experience with staff has left a sour taste. I decided to place an order through Rotherham eats for the first time, delivery time was updated at 2.10pm to be at 2.35pm and at 2.20pm it stated delivery was on the way. At 2.50pm with no sign of our order I called the restaurant to enquire - the female who answered stated that the driver had left 10 minutes ago and should be with us soon. When I queried why the app stated otherwise I was told it was wrong and no apology was offered. When the food arrived we noted 2 items were missing. For the record on the menu it stated that free chai was included with the breakfast meal and we had also ordered 2 extra chai’s. 2 chais were missing - again I called and spoke with the same brash female. There was immediately a clear attitude problem, no apology was offered and she repeatedly stated that they no longer offer free chai with the meals and this had not been updated on the rotherhameats app. I explained that a refund for two chais should be offered but again in a rude manner was told no she was not going to do this. I had to ask what exactly the solution would be as the menu items were clearly stated on the app and surely it would be their responsibility to honour that. The female clearly had no customer service skills as I note previous reviews also state the rudeness of staff members. The following day I spoke with the manager Mohammed who did offer an apology however was justifying the behaviour of the staff who was a family member. He also stated that he had given free delivery for the orders we had placed when he shouldnt have as we live 4 miles away - that is incorrect. I have gone back to check and we have always placed orders through an app like justeat and have always paid delivery, in addition we are only 1.7miles away.

We will no longer be placing orders from this cafe - it is really a matter of principle as if the female staff member had actually apologised and politely explained instead of behaving so rudely and denying any fault on their part the matter would have ended.

I am expecting a rude response to this review as I’ve seen on previous reviews which prove my points above.

I thank the manager for his defensive apology however would advise some more customer service training for the staff member. If you are going to place an order online it may be wise to call the cafe beforehand to ensure you will get the actual items you...

Everything was excellent. I ordered the Aloo Paratha, Chana, Halwa, and Puri.

Though it’s a small shop and felt quite lively when I walked in, the young lady behind the counter managed the crowd with ease — calm, friendly, and completely unflustered. She even upgraded my order to an Aloo Paratha at no extra charge, which was a nice touch.

The food itself was wonderfully authentic, proper home-style cooking that really hits the spot. Best Chana I have had (sorry, Mum!) I’ll definitely be back.

Note: The Halwa served appeared to be Gajar Halwa, if I’m not mistaken. I was expecting Sooji (Semolina) Halwa, but it was a great meal...

The man who own this place is downright rude and disrespectful alongside his son been ordering for years only as the food was nice and auntys who speak there are nice but the man who is also the delivery driver is a rude obnoxious money greedy man. I ordered a week ago and they delivered the wrong order then would not admit fault and went on to say I can deliver again for a charge will never recommend this place again to family and friends solely on their disgusting behaviour...
