The Ministry Rotherham — Restaurant in Rotherham

When we first entered, although we liked the interior decor and overall atmosphere, there was no drinks menu to look at. The coffee was fine but we ordered some food and were told that there were no chicken or prawns. Two of us then opted for brie and cranberry toasties which turned out to be completely black burnt on one side (photos attached). Obviously, the burnt bread was unappetising and probably changed the taste of the toastie for the worse. The brie was so runny that it was spilling out onto the plate and the side of coleslaw tasted like it was just full fat mayonnaise with some shredded carrot in it. Way too thick! Unfortunately I wouldn't say we had a great experience at the cafe today. The cappuccinos were both very watery and a limited choice of cakes. I had a muffin which was quite hard and a bit tasteless whilst my wife had the meringue. She said she had to hold her nose because the smell wasn't pleasant.

I believe it's change ownership. If so, the new owners need to improve the quality of the food and drinks.

It was a warm day so both doors were open. However, this let in a lot of flies and some I could see were on the cakes.

On a plus side, the staff...

The coffee is really pleasant and the prices are fair. The loyalty program, although not new, is a nice touch and is better than Starbucks's system. The staff are friendly and welcoming too and the coffee has a rich and creamy taste I love. Heavenly coffee is a great choice of coffee beans as I have positive thoughts of their fair trade beans.
