Café Coco Restaurant — Restaurant in Rugby

Really, really disappointed with Coco today. I’ve been coming here for years, bringing friends, family and partners, and have always considered Coco one of my favourites. No longer:

We ordered two flat whites. Two cappuccinos arrived. Fine, no biggie. They replaced mine but it was so hot it scalded the roof of my mouth. So much so i had to ask for ice to cool the burn. Clearly the guy behind the machine doesn’t use thermometers or reheated already hot milk.

Our side of fries arrived before our meal. Ok, fine whatever, no biggie in itself, but yes they were cold by the time our mains arrived.

Mains arrived. Two croque madames. I’ve been coming here mainly for the croque madames cos they are usually excellent. Both were terrible. The bread was tough and spongey - like it had been microwaved. The eggs were overdone and dry. Really don’t want to sound rude but it’s not hard to fry an egg.

Worst of all, the man who served was rude and unprofessional. He threw our menus onto the table, spouted some nonsense over why my coffee was the heat of the sun, and then snarled at my partner after he took the food back to complain. Such a shame as usually the service here is excellent. Whoever this man is needs to get off the cafe floor and let the people who know what they’re doing do their jobs.

I'm a regular customer at this cafe. However today I had a not so good experience. I ordered breakfast, my toast arrived but I asked the woman about the rest of my breakfast. She says it is coming. I waited patiently till I decided to get up and walk to the counter to query what's happened to the rest of my breakfast. I then got told told by the same woman that it's coming. When it arrived, I questioned that I had also ordered tomatoes. Upon which she said oh ok I'll being them. Upon bringing them tomatoes I had sliced into my "so called poached egg" only to realise it was solid and over-cooked. As a regular customer you would think the owner would have come over snd acknowledged my genuine complaint but he didn't. He asked the waitress what had happened and left it at that, whilst I paid full price. Disgusting and no intention to retain...

Café Coco is a lovely, polite, welcoming and pleasant Cafe to visit. Not also does Coco's provide excellent Coffee and other drinks, Coco's can cook up a beautiful fresh meal every time you order. As you sit and wait for your order, take note of the decor, some interesting art and pieces to ponder at. I have been visiting Coco's over several years and I am never disappointed.. Although their are plenty of cafes in the town Coco's is a relaxing place even if passing and you fancy a sit down with a drink to catch your breath and rest your legs/feet.it's a good place.
