We stopped here for dinner with our children and it was a mixed bag in terms of experience... the place looks tidy and clean both inside and out, and we got a table easily enough. Menu has a fair range of different options and they also have some specials. Service at the bar for ordering took a fair amount of time and should have been far quicker than it was. The wife wanted some cocktails (reasonable price at 2 for £7) but unfortunatly the staff were unsure how to make her first choice (long island ice tea) and then surprisingly struggled a little with the spritz. In terms of food, the wife went for chicken and ribs and I went for the wild boar and chorizo burger off the specials. The wife thought hers was OK, and mine I thought was tasty - however the garlic bread side took an extra 5 mins to turn up. Can't comment on the kids meal other than it would have been nice to have the small plates for kids included in the cost of adult meal - never keen on paying much for a meal for a 3 yr old who may or may not actually eat anything...! So generally, not as bad as some of the reviews suggest, but likewise not the best place we have ever been.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was quiet. Finding a seat was easy and we were welcomed by staff on entry. We ordered through the app which was easy to use. Ordering mains, one starter for one of the kids, and puddings for the kids. Our drinks came quickly and the starter came soon after. The chap serving asked if we wanted to wait until the starter was finished for the mains or bring them asap. The mains arrived soon after and everything was lovely. Nothing over cooked, which is my main issue with pub grub. My burger was big and juicy and the fried egg was perfect, all white cooked through and a runny yoke. We finished our mains and as the chap was clearing our plates he asked if we'd be ordering desserts for the adults, as he'd get the kitchen to delay the kids desserts until that order came through. We did and all the puddings arrived at once, which I thought was a nice touch and good communication with the kitchen. All in all the food was good, and the service was great. I know the apple tree has been variable in the past but they seem to have it together at the moment!

We visited this pub restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We arrived at 20.00 which I thought may be too late to be served food but we were directed to a table where we chose our food. The staff asked about any food allergies either of us have and so we told them what I can’t eat. We had cheesy garlic ciabatta for a starter with me having rump steak and my partner having a mixed grill. Both were served with crispy fried onions, chips, tomato, mushrooms and peas. Our food was cooked to perfection and we had a wonderful evening. I was especially impressed when our food arrived at the table it was marked with little flags to indicate I have food allergies so to avoid cross contamination, it is the first time I’d seen this and was therefore rather impressed.

The pub is my local and I love it, atmosphere is great and we visit at least once or twice a month for a quiz night. I usually have the cod and chips but as weather so hot decided to have the Lasagne. Was a big mistake. It was awful and I really couldn't finish it. The meat sauce was runny and overly seasoned with basil and what seemed like oxo cubes. It arrived boiling hot and burnt on the top. The salad was limp and had a dreadful dressing on the top which had a taste like fairy liquid!! Not pleasant. The chips were amazing as a side order, the garlic bread was dripping in oil and greasy!! Not a great experience. The others I was with enjoyed their meals of pies and a burger. Mine really wasn't what I would call a Lasagne. Lasagne if made well can be so enjoyable. Lasagne never makes for a good meal when served in a round dish. I am a very good cook and I would love to go there and show them how to make a lovely lasagne!! Whoever made this one needs to be trained on how to make it. Have to say, the worst Lasagne I have ever had and won't be having it again in a hurry! So sorry to disappoint you and frankly I was very disappointed as it is my local and unusual for my meal to be a right off!! It won't put me off eating there but this one needs to be sorted. I need to tell you that there was far too much basil in the meat sauce and it made it taste of metal. My husband tried it also and though it was ghastly!! I would also like to add at this stage that our fav pudding has been removed from the menu - that being Treacle Sponge & Custard and the Apple Tree missed out on three pudding sales last night!! Get it back on the menu as we love it!! You asked me for my comments and I didn't like to complain last night but seeing as you have sent me a message to give you feedback I am doing so and being very honest with you. I do sincerely hope you take on these comments as there are other pubs in the locality that we could frequent for food and then come on for the quiz later!! Food at this pub needs to get better as it has slipped considerably we all feel over the last year or two or since lockdown and also because of the cost of living. So, rather hoping for better things the next time I visit my local Pub called...

I visited here for the first time on Saturday night as it looked really nice from outside plus it had been recommended. The food was nice and there was a really big menu to choose from as well as there being a set cheaper menu. However the atmosphere and the staff let's this down hugely. There was a sign inside the door that says Katy and the team welcome you and we thought that was a really nice touch. However there were 2 bar men serving who to use the words rude and stroppy would be a understatement! A young girl was cleaning tables and bringing food and again there was no friendliness or smile. We waited nearly an hour for our food and yet there were only a few tables of people in there when we ordered. By the time we'd finished eating a very nice dessert the place was packed. Each table around us were complaining, food was being sent back, and the table at the side were told that Katy would be with them in a couple of minutes. Well 35 minutes later when we finally got to leave Katy had still not been to them! Food wise yes I'd go again and recommend, but service wise no never again.

Thank you for your response Katy. I tried to call you back within 10 minutes of you posting this but was advised by Sam you weren't in, she didn't ask for my number or a message for you to call me back. There were 2 men working on Saturday behind the bar, a young tall, slim gentleman with brown hair and an older gentlemen with long white hair in a pony tail. It was 5pm we first came in and ordered so perhaps that's where you're mistaken with saying there were 2 girls on. I can't prove we waited an hour but I can assure you we did. Perhaps you could reply at a time you are in or alternatively let me know when you're available for me to...

If I could give 0 stars I would. Firstly they didn't have any 10oz Ribeye which for 7pm on a Wednesday with only 10 people in the pub is piss poor. Really, how difficult is it to get the amount of stock right? So I have to have the 16oz Rump served medium. To my surprise its served in 4 separate pieces, is at a maximum 1cm thick and is completely burned and is well done which is being kind. It could have been used for shoe leather if I was being negative. What a joke of a steak, the worst I've seen in years. I rarely complain, like litteraly once a year maximum but I had to this time as it was a joke so took it back and explained its nowhere near medium. They advise dots served in 4 pics as its a "muscle cut of meat" What the hell?? This is made up and doesn't hold up so why the hell are the staff coming out with such bull?

They replaced it with something that was not well done, but DEFINITELY NOT medium. So I ate it anyway as I'd been here for an hour now. It was poor. Wafer thin, over cooked and tasteless. I will not, EVER return here as the "cooks" don't even know how to cook a steak. To be served a 16oz steak in 4 pieces, at most 1cm thick and for it to be overdone is a complete joke. I wish I could have cooked it myself. If you can't source a single piece of steak at 16oz, DO NOT ADVERTISE it as what's served is such a joke I'm surprised no one else has complained.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

I wouldn't come here if the next meal is FREE!

I left 60% of my meal and was far too embarrassed at this stage to ask for a refund Maybe I'll try a charge back with my bank it...
