If you're really hungry you'll be fed here, but don't expect tasty food or even Turkish food. Ordered Hummus for starter and then Chicken Shish with rice. Hummus had too much tahini, as a result was too bitter and had too much oil anyway. Rice was all sticking together, overcooked. And the rice had peas and carrot and frozen Mexican veg mix inside. I have been in Turkey a few times and I have never seen this mixed in rice. Meat is acceptable but not great. I got asked by the owner how was the food and I asked in return if he wanted the truth or wanted to hear great things? Because he said he wants the truth i shared with him what i mentioned and he denied and he did not even listen but kept interrupting telling us we don't know high end rice or high end food. Well we are in food industry also and we appreciate Turkish cuisine, but this is not one that represents Turkish cuisine. Paid almost £50 just to realise it would have been better to drive the 30 min to get to a place that's is always great, everytime. It's in Wolverhampton and has the name of the old capital, the largerst city of the food it really represents. Funny is that the owner showed me all the awards from uberEats etc claiming it's proof that it's the best Turkish restaurant in UK. A beautiful restaurant with even better food! The Family Special Platter was piled high with succulent chicken, melt in your mouth meat and subtly flavoured rice! The complimentary bread and dips were the perfect combination with the fresh leafy salad. However, we were seated with a bitter taste in our mouth due to the cold service we initially received upon entrance. A waitress immediately states to us “it’s a Saturday guys, you should’ve booked!” This was highly frustrating as the manager himself answered our call beforehand and said there was more than enough space for our party of 6! After clarifying this with the waitress, she completely dismissed us and left another server to inform us that they’re clearing a table for us. Additionally, we were refused a jug of water on 4 occasions. The waitress said there were no more jugs in the restaurant and to which I asked if we could get some glasses of water instead, once she had checked, she said the glasses will be out in a minute. A whole hour goes by and we still haven’t received our glasses of water. Thankfully, another server heard our pleas and bought us a bottle of water free of charge!

Overall, the food was great and atmosphere was pleasant except the service was a massive left down. I had previously dined at Mount Nemrut Turkish Restaurant and had an excellent experience, so I was looking forward to visiting again. Unfortunately, this time around, it was quite a disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing, and while I understand it was late, I didn’t expect the lackluster experience that followed.

To start, there was no one else in the restaurant, which gave it an oddly empty and uninviting atmosphere. Worse yet, the food we were served wasn’t even hot. It was lukewarm at best and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a while, making it feel old and unappetizing. For a place I previously loved, this was incredibly disappointing.

The service was also far from what I expected. The server seemed rushed and asked for payment even before serving the food, which felt odd and unprofessional. After the food arrived, the server vanished, and there was no one around to check in or assist if we needed anything.

Overall, it felt like the restaurant had already closed in spirit, even though there was still time left. The cold food and inattentive service left a sour taste, and I'm unsure if I'd return given this experience. It’s unfortunate because my previous visit had been so...
