This was my facebook review (Attached as photo). We had what could have been a great night ruined by incompetent staff and a manager with a bad attitude when we complained. The food was great, although some of the portions were small. The person serving kept giving us the wrong information when she brought the food out, eg saying who ordered chicken tikka and everyone saying not us, when she had actually brought out butter chicken which one of us had ordered. This happened several times. they came over insisting that items were ours as they "Were on the same ticket", but they were for someone else. We wanted to eat together, I know that there may be a few minutes between the first food arriving and the last food to arrive, but some of us had finished our meals before others even had theirs. Two people never got their food at all, despite us asking several times. They didn't bring enough cutlery over. My partner cleared all the glasses and plates off the table. One person who didn't eat (and is diabetic) complained and got her money back. The second who didn't get her meal asked for her money back and the manager practically called her a lier, not believing she had paid, because he couldn't find her ticket on his spike. She ordered after me and I was stood next to her when she ordered and paid. He did give my friend her money back and begrudgingly apologise after arguing about it for a good few minutes. I think it is the sign of a bad business when they argue about a genuine complaint, rather than trying to put things right and ensuring people...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely staff members, however do wish they would advocate more for other patrons in the establishment. A 0 tolerance policy would go amazingly not only towards staff but to help protect other customers also. I've always felt welcome in this pub as me and my family have used it quite a lot over the span of my life and their own. However, it doesn't have that same friendly atmosphere anymore, unfortunately it's the few patrons in there that let this down. Because they are regulars they believe their word is law compared to the actual employees. From Making unnecessary comments to strangers to creating trouble towards customers who are not the usual regulars brings forward an unwelcoming atmosphere to this lovely classic pub. It's a real shame and I don't wish to leave such a tainting review however it doesn't feel right compared to what this place used to run like.
EDIT : This Is about The Old Cross, nothing to do with the Crosswells and quite frankly it's shameful you attempt to slander another business rather than hold yourselves accountable, sorry your customers accountable**. You've literally copied and pasted this reply to go along with a different review that I noticed before typing this one. Also how can you check for cctv when 1. My profile picture was from 2 years ago and 2. I didn't mention which date I was in your establishment. Quite clearly just another automated response that blames another business rather than being...
Read moreSeen a few mixed reviews & thought I'd leave my own but not your usual night down the pub as England played in the euros - was our first visit & I liked the place - I'll be back sometime soon as I appreciated the set up & service - the owners really thought about a crowd wanting to watch the footy & the area out front was great - plenty of food options with the van on the car park & takeaways over the road & even a mini bar set up outside - nice pub with people of all ages & no...
