2025 - 05/10/25 9 months later I’m ignored at the bar again. I could have sworn I’m not invisible, I know I’m very pale but jeez. Either I have the worst luck or I am indeed invisible. My mum ordered our carveries and her 1 drink. She sat down. I waited at the bar no one else around just me and the barmaid and yet she decided to walk up and down the bar and completely ignore me. What does she think I’m waiting for, a bus? Once she finally realised the bus wasn’t coming and she was the one who had to serve me she was like oh did you want something?! I actually did have strong words with her and whilst I work in retail myself, I just couldn’t hold myself due to the sheer audacity of it and the fact Ild just finished my 7hr shift NOT ignoring people I expect the same service I give on my job. I told her I’ve been ignored at this bar before and I find it disgusting she didn’t acknowledge me at all for a good while. She did apologise but the damage was done.

Also the food was tasteless and boring. I definitely won’t be back Ild rather starve 👍🏻

2024 Changing my review as I came in yesterday and was disappointed by the service.

I came to the bar to buy a carvery. Tall guy and girl with glasses were there. Guy was serving someone and the girl was just standing there, basically looking like she didn’t want to be there. Another customer up to the bar on the other side and she went over to serve him but ignored me!

The guy server was in front of me pouring a pint (a FULL pint if he was trying it to test it this is NOT true! I wasn’t born yesterday!) and he noticed me roll my eyes and tut (I very nearly walked out) and he said Ild be next.

After pouring the FULL pint he proceeded to take a swig out of it in front of me and then served me!!

Why on earth do you let your staff drink alcohol whilst on shift especially in front of customers it’s very unprofessional and again he seemed like he didn’t want to be there. I was shocked but because I was so hungry I ordered my carvery (he didn’t ask if I wanted a drink) and left the bar.

The carvery itself was basic and bland I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to make it taste more better.

It’s going to be a while before I step foot here again, somethings definitely changed here.

EDIT in reply to you - there’s not a chance he poured that pint to test it, don’t pull the wool over my eyes. Why would he pull a FULL pint to test?!? Yes I’ve been coming for 3 years on and off but the food has gotten worse and the service even more so.

This review made in 2021 Just moved into the area and had to try this out. I did pick a busy day but the food was fantastic. Quick service and piping hot Carvery, much better than other places I’ve been to. Lots of families here which to me shows it’s a popular place...

The meat is giving out like rations.the chicken was that tough it offered to fight me twice.the staff thought that king edward invented the potatoe.the beef had frost bite and the onions are that under cooked they were crying.the carvery was more cold than the titanic and staff thought it was funny and laughed about it..wouldnt even take my dogs there to be honest..the dining room was more cold than outside.the carpets are older than david dickinson..unexceptable and avoid like covid.oh and I don't even drink alcohol as got a bad heart so nice try with your lies..your pub is victorian inside and this isn't the only review stating that your food is cold and we definitely will go somewhere else and any recommendations to people around West Bromwich won't include yours.💯 and online bullying..lmfaooooo.I've simply left a negative review which isn't against the law and the truth is obviously something you don't like.🤦‍♂️..your food was cold.your carpets are sticky and old..the place was cold and the staff were rude and the servings were rations.end of.oh and apparently refunded one person who turned up late.lmfaoooo.we came together in a taxi and a party.lmfaoooo again..it was just a meal on a Sunday which we all regret as the food was decomposing and should be on that film (frozen) and as for saying people like me don't deserve any service.🤔.hows about people like you provide a proper service then perhaps people like me wont leave negative feedback 👌.p.s everyone for £2 more go toby carvery burntree Island where the food...

Came here for my Mothers Birthday as we were considering eating Christmas lunch here. The staff aside from the bar staff seem very non existent, place is very unclean, gravy splattered up the window due to clientele. The small space for the carvery was like a cattle market, with bits of food being flicked all over the place. Eventually after getting our carvery the chefs threw the ladel back into the gracy which therefore splashed up my mothers clothing. No apology, no acknowledgement whatsoever. The worst is yet to come... there was an 11 year olf girl roughly in front who tasted the mint sauce spoon and placed it back inside. There wwre at least 4 members of staff on the carvery pass at this point who saw this happen and it had to take for ne to say something about it for them to change the spoon, let alone the actual pot of sauce. The sauce was then placed back into the fridge which i suspect will be used later on. The food was barely cooked and as a chef who cooks things to just cooked even for me they were rock-hard. To top the already rubbish experience off as we left the pub there was a fight kicking off. Disgraceful pub but probably good to the locals, never again. Disgusting.
