I was pleased to see when backcountry ales took on this pillar of the community, the pub has been there for decades and I thought this is just what it needs keep going. I arrived at lunch time and there was a private function going on and I appeared to be the only single customer in there, which felt very odd and weird so I just ordered a half. The young lady that served me was prompt, polite and smiling, soon as she served me she went straight back round the other side of the bar??? Another woman was stood in the hatch on her phone, I can only assume it was the manager, she never came up from here phone, when a customer came to the bar she called the young lady to serve them???? The poor girl was being pulled between 2 bars with a full pub for a private function. The pub looks great, the ale wasn't to the usual standards of a blackcountry Inn, it was green and warmer than it should be. Sorry to say my first experience of the new Bush wasn't great, I hope that on my next visit it will be what a black country Inn is, warm, inviting, well looked after ales served as they are ment to be. I'm looking forward to it,...
Read moreReally nice pub, quite small but there are two rooms available to sit in and also seating on the (small) car park and a small beer garden at the back with children's play equipment. The pub is nicely decorated with pictures of the pub and the local area hanging on the walls, and has a nice, pleasant welcoming atmosphere. The menu is good and prices are reasonable, we were there for drinks after a funeral, so food was provided, the buffet was well presented and fresh. The drinks were nice although it was a little disappointing that there was no ice or lemon/lime to go in my Coke, but it was cold and refreshing. It's on a very busy road, half way up a very steep hill and parking is quite difficult which is a shame, but we do still intend to go there one evening and have a meal. I will edit then to say what the meal was like. I would certainly go there again for a...
