The Waterfall Pub — Restaurant in Sandwell

1 hour and 20 mins after ordering at 1905 tonight (bearing in mind we had a Reserved a table for four...... So we were expected), I asked at the bar how long the food might be......... Given too, that it was now AFTER everyone in the restaurant had finished eating......

One lone meal of the four ordered then arrived, but it was 10 mins later before the second of four arrived, albeit with a rump steak, when a more expensive rib eye steak had been ordered!!!!! ........

So it was taken back and finally a further 10 mins later the other 3 meals were served (the first having had to have been eaten by one of our party, or it would have been stone cold) .

One of these further 3 meals should have been cod in batter, but when cooked the batter shouldn't run and the cod should no longer be cold or translucent....... You would perhaps expect???.......

Having not been provided with a steak knife I thought that the standard knife might have been the problem with the Second steak, but found after returning to the bar yet again for a steak knife, it wasn't the knife that was the problem!!!!!

Asking to see the cook, her defence on arrival (if you can call it a defence??? ..... Given that this was before we had said anything) , was that she was on her own and she had taken a large order...... But that must have been for their 'take away service'...... As there was nobody eating or waiting.....unless she had 'a foreigner on the go'...... As they do not have a take away service!!!........Or do they?????

No apology from the cook for the 1 hour 20 min wait, for one meal arriving before the rest, for the wrong food, for uncooked food and for inedible food...... And no refund from her for two of the four meals... ..... Even though she had agreed to it!!!!! ........ So we finally had to ask for the manager at the bar for this partial refund.

The reason for the dinner WAS for our son who had come down to see us from Scotland...... Thanks for making our evening and his memory of it so very, very special!!!!!!!!!! Rest assured, this will not be an evening that will be forgotten by any of us, our friends, work colleagues, or relatives...... When...

Sort of fell across this place when another venue had lost its chef. The pub location is handy has parking and is very homely and cosy inside. The selection on the menu is decent for the area and the service staff were nice too. Food ordered for the 6 of us my family of 4 and two friends. The children's meal's came first with ours coming a short while after. Im not one to complain the steak wasn't hot when it came even though it wasn't the one I ordered and didn't get reimbursed the difference as I found out later. My meal was a modification as i didn't want the other sundries on offer, the amount was decent but it's not for me and rather than bad mouth I will leave it there. Its OK , the only thing that saves this place is the beer , good selection , moved from the vine delph road as the beer there had gone off or at least started to taste awful . the waterfall have got bathams bitter that is great . false chinsey shabby chique interior is a bit over the top and not to everyone's taste and apart from the bar nowhere to sit other than at a table in the restaurant area , the bar room is basicallly the other side of the restaurant seating bit and you do get some undesireables swearing and being leary in there unaware of their effing and jeffing can be heard by the diners across the way. This uncouthness goes unnoticed by the servers and on some occasions is encouraged. Its a nice place to eat if your lucky enough to catch it when the...
