My girlfriend and I ordered a takeaway last night and were very disappointed. We’ll start with the good points first though. The lady who took our order over the phone was polite and efficient. Everything we ordered was correct.
The Starters were good. We ordered onion bhajis and a kerralan chicken dish. These were tasty enough.
My girlfriend and I really enjoy our food and cook on a regular basis. Our mains were something we’ve cooked before: I had South Indian Garlic Chilli Balti, my girlfriend had a prawn Achari.
The balti was awful and bore no resemblance to one. It was simply an onion stock with some acrid tasting spices, which were clearly over cooked. There was no sign of any chilli or coriander as a garnish nor did there seem to be much garlic.
My girlfriend’s Achari was even worse. An Achari should be made with pickling spices and lime pickle. There was no hint of any lime and there was a very odd aniseed like flavour.
Neither of us were interested in finishing the curry as it was so disappointing.
Another positive was that the curry arrived when they said it was gonna arrive although this was after over an hours wait.

Aangan’s quality is extremely high, the owner is passionate about his food, and the curries and naans are delicious. The Daal Makhni is especially delicious, and has a slow cooked, creamy texture. The Shakuti is a very hot creamy Goan curry that is hard to find, but it has layers of coconut and chillis and Aangan makes an amazing one (if you’re up for the challenge!). The veggie dishes are as good as the meat ones. We have ordered from here twice monthly and it has been a high spot for our family in tough times. Thank...
Read moreWe have ordered delivery or takeaway about once a week over the last 2 years and enjoyed every meal. I am particularly fond of the spicier dishes including the Goanese fish curry, which has really good dried chili flavour (not only heat--but also plenty of heat). The rice is also excellent (including the biryanis), as are the breads. There's a huge variety of different sauces and preparations which are all very distinctive but still well balanced. The restaurant and delivery drivers are also very nice. We used to live elsewhere in Fife with other good Indian restaurants, but this is by far our favourite restaurant in Fife (and visiting family were also...
