Eaten here a handful of times over the years. Definitely best to book a table ahead of your visit.

I'm never disappointed with the food I get, though one time I had a burger that didn't taste right but with no issues it was removed from my bill, so I have no complaints and have been back since.

Tomahawk steak for 2 is what we had on this recent visit, first time since covid and it was good. There has been a price increase for the offer but for what you get with steak and all the sides and sauces it's definitely still reasonably priced.

Served with king prawns, fried mushrooms, chips, sweet potato chips, onion rings, side salad and a variety of mustards and a very good peppercorn sauce. Sauce blew my head off a bit initially but by the end of my meal I was really enjoying it and wished I had more food to finish off the sauce with 🤣

Plenty of food for 2 people. We ordered it originally as medium/rare for my liking but as my partner likes medium/well done we called ahead to alter it to medium, which was no problem at all to the staff. I'd say it was cooked as well done rather than medium but given it was still delicious I have zero complaints. A deposit of £25 is required when booking and deducted from your bill at the end of the meal.

Definitely worth a visit whether for food or a good pint!

Cosy atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean establishment. Adheres to current...

Really good service for a family meal, food arrived quickly and quality ranged from "nice" to excellent.

The mussels my partner and I had were very well cooked, and the small serving of them was generous for a starter - the large, which someone else ordered as a starter, would have been a decent sized main course for all but the biggest eaters. The nachos were also a good sized portion, and the soup of the day was appreciated greatly.

The burgers we had were good posh pub burgers - the kind with a very high meat content, of good meat, and they were cooked in such a way that while they were dense they weren't dry.

My one grumble is that the tomato ketchup on the table wasn't a good one - very vinegary. If you don't do ketchup, this obviously will not bother you, but I have strong opinions on the subject!

Down the table, the macaroni was a hit, and the Cajun salmon was very much enjoyed.

The Eton Mess dessert was lovely, served in a martini glass and a very well balanced mix of sweet meringue and tart fruit. For those wanting to be stuffed the cheesecakes were a big success.

Having enjoyed my meal I'd definitely come back and try a few other things off the menu, but I might sneak in my own bottle of ketchup...

one of the most cosy and welcoming pubs ive ever eaten at , myself and my boyfriend went on the 24th of may for lunch when we got in we were welcomed and seated, as we were reading the menu two very rude and drunk women were giving the waitress a very hard time after their meal about where they had been sat even though all the tables were lovely , she handled the situation very well and professionally for such rude people , she served us i believe her name was rhiannon and she was one of the nicest servers ive had in a long long time she was so chatty and friendly and made our experience incredibly enjoyable , we both got a burger each and peppercorn sauce as a side , the portions were large but not too big almost perfect and filled me up for the rest of the day for a very reasonable price the peppercorn sauce was creamy and thick and tasty. we also had an expresso martini each which they had on tap which i thought was super cool and they came out looking like handmade cocktails , if i could give a 6 star i would, such a pleasant place and i would happily say 10/10 for the service and food , very impressed we will...

We popped in here for a bar lunch today and were not disappointed. We were taken to our table and ordered our food and drinks. We opted to share a plate of haggis fritters , and both of us had the fish and chips. My fish was breadcrumbed and my wife's was battered. The haggis fritters (and we are being really picky here) were slightly overcooked, and the salad had a bit too much dressing but still tasted really nice. The fish was a nice size, I have to say, it was the best breaded fish I have had in a while. My wife's fish was equally good. The portion sizes were large (my wife had trouble finishing hers). The chips and accompanying salad were good too. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. Even coming over to ask how our meals were, that was a nice touch. The inside of the pub looked and felt like a traditional old styled Scottish pub, which enhanced the eating experience. The toilets were spotless (well done, the cleaner). This pub is also dog friendly. Great wee local pub, I can highly recommend.

What a wonderful find. A family and dog friendly cosy restaurant, delightfully decorated, with a warm and inviting feel and atmosphere. We were given a lovely welcome on arrival with water and treat for our dog too. The food was exceptional, very yummy, well presented and hot. A great range of menu options and specials along with a large range of drinks available. Would absolutely recommend, we had a brilliant evening. Booking recommended as very popular. Parking can we found all around the restaurant but no car park specific to the restaurant so allow time to park.
