10 out of 10! Probably the best Indian we have ever had! Visiting from the Lake district on holiday, never been before we had a quick check online what food was available nearby and took a punt! The staff were nothing but accomodating and friendly. Asked what was similar to a passanda as not on menu and the gentleman said, don't worry we can make that! The next guy while ordering looked at us when we said 2 Nan breads and I said why are they large and he smiled and said yes quite large and we were really thankful for that as we couldn't eat all that shared as it was! Our little girl had scampi and chips of the kids menu followed by ice cream! Food was exceptional, both Currys, I probably had the spiciest chicken tikka masala I have ever had but the flavours were unreal, with pilau rice, Kashmiri Nan and poppadoms with a chutney tray.
Not only was the food exceptional but the view is also on another level! Never have we ever say and been able to admire the sea view while chomping down a beautiful curry.
I can not recommend this place enough, will definitely come back when we next choose to visit Ayr!
Thanks...
Read moreIt is a very expensive restaurant in Ayr near to the beach. The vegetable curry is one of the worst I've had. Pakora didn't look fresh, and the garnish was embarrassing. The dips also seemed a bit watered down. The spice onions were ok. Chicken tikka was enjoyed by the party as was the nan bread. Although we felt the curry sauce was also a bit too watery. The young girls working there put the effort in. The main hostess seemed a bit too overconfident and had many questions to ask, overstepping by asking what we do for employment. Drinks seemed flat and suspected out of 2 litre bottles. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. Everyone has their own preference and tastes, etc. It wasn't worth the drive from Glasgow. £95 seemed steep as no alcohol included, nor was it x4 two course meals either, but paying that price it should be exceptional. On this occasion, it wasn't. The view of the beach is nice, plenty of parking available. So...
Read moreA hidden gem in plain sight. I've walked passed this restaurant for many years, happily distracted by the beautiful view out towards Arran and the dogs on the beach, but I've always had the thought in the back of my head each time I pass by.. 'the views from that restaurant look amazing, I should really try it out!' I also happen to love Indian food, so this visit was long overdue. Well I'm happy to say I finally went and my overwhelming takeaway is that I simply wish I'd went sooner, food was amazing, starter, mains all delicious and full of flavour, even the pistachio dessert was.. interesting! The house wine wasn't too bad either. Lovely kind and gentle staff make all the difference as well. My partner and I were delighted, and the view was everything I had imagined. There wasn't an option to tip on the machine, but that's ok I'll bring some...
