⸻||Abbotsford Hotel Restaurant – Outstanding Service and a Fantastic Meal||I went to the Abbotsford Hotel restaurant this evening at around 8:30–8:45 pm and asked which chef was on. The young sous-chef, Nav, came out to speak with me.||It was clear that the kitchen was winding down for the night, but I asked if there was any chance of having something to eat. Nav kindly agreed to make me a steak with some vegetables. I knew the fryers had been turned off and the kitchen was cleaned down, so I wasn’t expecting much – but what I got was fantastic.||I went through to the restaurant and was warmly greeted by Tommy, who was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel very comfortable. I ordered a drink and settled in.||When the meal arrived, it was beautifully presented. The vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked, the steak was spot-on, and – amazingly – they served hand-cut chips! Here’s a perfect example of under-promising and over-delivering. What a turnaround – and what a delight.||Full marks to the Abbotsford. The meal was absolutely fantastic, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. And I should know – I used to own the Savoy Park Hotel in Ayr, which was number one on TripAdvisor for years. These guys definitely deserve to be right up...

I have just arrived home after spending the September weekend at The Abbortsford Hotel along with my 6 year old son. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, seriously! ||I don’t even know where to start… |The staff are very attentive and welcoming and carried our bags upstairs for us. They also prior to us arriving suggested places nearby that I could take my little boy. Very kind!||The room was 10/10 (the thistle room) in particular the bathroom. It was absolutely stunning. The attention to detail did not go un noticed! ||We ordered dinner both nights and decided to eat it in the comfort of the room and staff were kind enough to deliver it to our door. Thank you! ||The bar man was very chatty and was very friendly. Made me the loveliest cocktail. ||The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and I cannot recommend it enough. I could go on and on about how lovely it was. ||Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back....

FAO Public Relations Manager: Visited this hotel with my wife with the intention of booking a table for dinner the following day while on a seaside break to Ayr after reading the mostly excellent reviews about the place on TripAdvisor. We were shown the dinner menus by the girl at the bar & booked a table for 3pm after being assured meals would be served at this time. Name & contact number was taken by a lady in the office & table reservation was confirmed by her. Upon arrival today (18/08) for our meal we were told by a person, who I presume to be the owner, (very curtly) that no meals are served till 5pm. Absolutely no apology given when I informed him the table had been booked for us by a member of his staff. He just replied that he would need to have a word with them. His attitude sickened us to the core, & totally inexcusable for a hotel owner to behave in...
