Disappointing Experience
I recently visited this restaurant in Dundee for dinner with my family and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. While the restaurant was neither excessively dirty nor particularly clean, it was clear from the outset that attention to detail and customer service were not priorities.
Our experience began on a sour note with the waiter, an older gentleman, who seemed disinterested and dismissive. Being our first visit, we asked him about portion sizes and recommendations, but his vague responses and lack of willingness to assist left us feeling unwelcome. His attitude suggested he was indifferent to providing even the basic level of service.
We ordered a portion of Nihari (£12.95) with two naan (£7), one chicken biriyani (£13.95), and a small bottle of Coke (£3), totaling £36.90. However, the food was far from satisfactory. The Nihari lacked the depth of flavor it is known for, and the biriyani was substandard. To add to this, despite the menu explicitly stating that raita is included with biriyani, it was not provided. When we inquired, the waiter pretended like it was a separate purchase but later got us some after saying about the menu, which we chose not to dispute.
Service continued to disappoint when the Nihari arrived without a serving spoon. After asking a young man who is also a waiter, a small spoon was brought over. The older waiter then intervened, handing us a larger spoon with a remark blaming younger staff for incompetence. Ironic, given his own lackluster performance.
The most frustrating part of the experience came with the bill. Initially, the young man who I mentioned previously presented a bill of £41.70 instead of the expected £36.90. Upon questioning this, he asked if we made our order with the desk menu. Even before I could respond he rushed to the till and returned with an even higher bill of £46.80. It was clear we had been overcharged for items we never ordered and that prices had been inflated. For what I could remember, £16.95 for the Nihari.
After pointing this out, he returned to the till and finally produced the correct bill. While this was happening, a man who appeared to be the manager approached and asked if we were satisfied. When I shared my concerns, including the overcharging incident, he seemed indifferent and focused solely on the food. Even worse, he attempted to take the bill from me without any explanation, which I had to insist on retaining.
Overall, the poor service, subpar food, and blatant attempt to overcharge have left a bad impression. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you do decide to visit, I strongly advise keeping a close eye on your order, prices, and final bill. It seems like the staff here are either incompetent or deliberately trying to take advantage of customers, and that’s...

Attended here with two friends and feel like I have to comment on the experience.
The food was uneventful, the dishes came in very small portions and the quality was not anything you wouldn’t expect in any similar restaurants.
The issue and the reason for this negative review is the somewhat unbelievable and brazen attempt to overcharge us for our bill.
As a group of 3 our meal and drinks came to £92, imagine our surprise when the bill arrived at £192.
On closer inspection the restaurant charged us for items we hadn’t ordered, double charging us for our food and for more drinks we hadn’t ordered. It is clear in my mind why, the staff assumed after a few drinks we would not notice and only after we challenged them on two occasions of reissuing the bill before it was rectified.
The brazenness of the staff and the arrogance to initially claim we were wrong tells me they have tried pulling this trick with others who may have not noticed.
Even if the food was outstanding (it wasn’t) I would certainly not be rushing back purely for the customer service. Attempting to overcharge people will not keep a customer base and I would urge other patrons to check their bills as this is clearly not a trustworthy establishment given this isn’t the first review that has...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bapujee restaurant and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, and my friend Yash, who works there, provided us with outstanding service throughout our meal.
Not only was Yash attentive and friendly, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. His recommendations were spot on, and he made sure that our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. He has an amazing combination of professionalism and friendship. Specially he gave us amazing ice cream from his side.
As for the food, it was simply delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavour in desi style . From the appetizers to the main course, every bite was a delight.
Overall, I cannot recommend Bapujee enough. The combination of excellent service from Yash and the mouthwatering food made for a memorable dining experience that I will definitely be repeating in the future.
