Unfortunately, I've to add a complaint to my initial review. After three years of coming here on weekends off from Aberdeen, and bringing my visiting friends & family, on Saturday 29/06/24 I was treated by two new female staff as somebody who doesn't understand English. This insult results in not having a slightest will to come back. Hungry in Ballater? Go straight there: best prices, biggest portions, most filling breakfast, the most professional staff! (and I got a free muffin for...

Stopped for a quick coffee and a bite to eat during a visit to Ballater.

One Carrot cake and one Pancakes with bacon and Maple syrup with coffee.

Food is very basic, Cake was good but Pancakes and bacon not so much. The bacon looked like it had been cooked 2 days before and then reheated in a dirty pan as there was egg and white fat all over it. The bacon was hard and could have been snapped in two , not nice.

There are other places in Ballater that on reflection look a lot...

Service was dreadful!! To start with they served us the wrong order, which would of been fine if it was not for the argumentative nature of the lady working there. After finally being served what we ordered originally (which was burnt) she said "are you happy now!?" Disgusting way to treat customers. I can see why the other coffee shops were busy and when we went in to this place it was quiet despite Ballater being very busy in its self. Do your self a favour, GO TO ANY OTHER...

Lovely little cafe. We visited multiple times on our trip to Ballater. The employees are attentive and friendly, and the food is quite good. We tried several items; the big breakfast, pancakes and bacon, bacon roll with egg and cheese and the sausage roll. We asked about their bread and their pastries. We were told they make the pastries but their bread comes from Byron Bakery. It’s a great little place and quickly became our favorite breakfast spot.

Delicious breakfast served by very lovely and welcoming people. We had a "big breakfast" and "blueberry & Nutella pancakes" (joys of being a English-Spanish couple). The coffees (dairy and soy cappuccinos) were spectacular! So creamy! The cakes looked very tempting, so we might have to come back!! It was the perfect stop in our road trip. The walk around the cute little town makes the cherried top to the driving break.
