Bensons Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Decided to have a wee lunch here today. Got seated , waited around 15 mins for someone to come take the order, even after attracting the attention of another member of staff. The waitress literally strolled round like she couldn’t have cared less. Places the order , which we had to repeat 3 times to her. Her whole demina was one of don’t care, not listening, standing with the hand on the hip.( Not nice in customer service. ) Waited around 10 mins for the food and it came out and it was wrong. Explained to the waiter who apologised and put through the new order. Was served quickly. Now I did not order chips with my lunch, but they arrived in the order, and I thought maybe you get chips with it.. Ate our lunch and went to pay… to be told our bill was £25…..🤦‍♀️ shocked at the price for what we had. Anyway , paid and left , but asked for the receipt. On checking this we found it was £3.50 for a can of juice and we had been charged for the chips as an extra…. another £3.. something. Sorry won’t be back and cant recommend. But do check your bill before leaving. Lesson...

I have Been going to bensons for years Even before it even became Benson it was a we cafe but I've noticed the difference in the food some off it has changed the black pudding even the sausage yesterday was half a sausage you could fire the Hash brown off the wall what is going on he staff are great I can't complain about that But The chef is sleeping very cosy we place but a bit disappointed yesterday first time in years I've wrote about anything to do with Bensons my partner had not finished his breakfast and the girl lifted the plate how rude mistakes not good when a plate sits at the front off table it's finished with ladies don't lift it from the front off the...

Although I’ve been in here many times this is my first review. I’ve always had a good service from the staff especially as I got a guide dog. Today I was served by Kirsty she was brilliant taking time to explain the menu and making me feel I needed to rush....
