The croissants were good, but a rude member of staff shouted at our friends for accidentally picking up the wrong coffees and left one of them in tears. We're up this direction a lot, but will be avoiding here.

Update: At the time of writing the initial review, I was undergoing treatment for sight loss causing insomnia and the rude experience I had at this cafe caused me to completely lose a night of sleep. I'm also not the person they thought I was, as I saw the hours and did not complain about the lunch. I suspect the server was just having a bad day and couldn't hold their emotions (hence their blunt response over here too). I hope they manage to work through whatever they're going through and don't behave towards customers that way in the future, but all I'm saying is take a little caution when going here. No apology was rendered at the time and I don't feel their response is one either, however I've reached out via email and will happily remove this review should I...

Update Sept 2025 - Visited again without the dogs so we were able to go inside the cafe, there was dressing on the tables in side so the salad which was still mainly lettuce was nicer so I've upped the fod star to 4 now. Need to include the dressing for tables outside.

Lovely old watermill. Dog friendly garden, that only has a few tables, which most were still covered in previous occupiers crockery etc. Was busy but seemed to take a while to clear tables. Both had cheese toasties which were lovely. Great bread and generous amounts of cheese. However it was served with half a plate of salad that consisted of 99% lettuce, half a cucumber, half a tomato and 3 small bits of red onion but with no dressing! Was a bit disappointing, either make more effort with the salad or don't...

We went on Saturday 23rd april about 11.30 am the staff had taken all the numbers of the table but refused to take the gentleman in front of me orders unless he new his table number😂 what a joke he didn't think so! We got to the counter l am a coeliac so l asked if they had gluten free cakes l got told very rude that they where a mill they are not allowed to make gluten free products. Derrrr!!! Like l wouldn't know and we didn't have a table number either so our experience was not good the young staff behind the counter where trying but the middle age lady behind the counter was reprimanding them .. Very unorganised and impolite. Not good if the food was not good they would...

This is a really unusual bakery to have your breakfast in! Loved this place. It is imbued with history, traditions, and kindness of Scottish Highlanders. The food and beverage is remarkable, the price in accordance with the atmosphere. The fruit scone with jam was fabulous. They also feature a museum-like exhibition of the different processes that lead to the collection, grounding, drying and realization of the final product. They also have plenty of space outside, much appreciated with the sunny morning of spring and summer. You can reach this place by car or by bus (service 87 to Blair Atholl, get off at Atholl Arms and walk a couple of minutes)

What a little gem we found on our drive back to Edinburgh from the Highlands! It’s tucked away down a tiny street and has the loveliest garden where you can enjoy your drink and pastries. We also loved learning about the working Watermill. It was out of commission for a couple hundred years but restored in the 70’s. You can learn about its history and see it working! You can even purchase the flour produced by the mill. If you are in the area, you must stop at this idyllic little cafe with scrumptious scones and coffee.
