Central Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Walked in to a busy cafe thinking this place must be good, asked a staff member do we just take a seat (without looking at us just said yes and walked by) thought they must be busy so we sat down. Checked the menu for what to eat. After a little time had went buy I could see others around were getting their orders taken. Thought we would be served after they done the other people who were sitting before us (only fair). After taking their orders more people walk in and sit at reserved seating only to be served almost immediately. Thought it was a bit strange when the server sat down with them at their table so take their order while another server sat and laughed loud and obnoxiously with what seemed like a regular (regulars seems to get special treatment and priority over others) another few mins go past one of the staff members leans over and says "have you been served?" I replied "no not yet". Only to be responded to with "wit dae yie want then?" If me and the Mrs weren't so hungry we would have left. The lady takes our order (didn't write it down) also never asked if we want any drinks or anything (had to get up and get them ourselves). You can see into the kitchen and watch your food being prepared and on doing so both me and the Mrs never seen anyone wash their hands while touching multiple different plates of food. Little to no regards for cross contamination or allergies being taken into consideration.

Food was extremely mediocre and mine was half cold.

Will not be going back. Far to loud and not welcoming to new customers.

The food on the photos looks great so that’s why me and my boyfriend went for a quick bite to eat. We ordered something very basic and I couldn’t finish it as I noticed no one was washing their hands. I could see into the kitchen and nobody washed their hands and no one was wearing a hair net. Seems if you’re a regular you get special treatment. We finally got our order taken after sitting for 10 mins looking around to see staff sitting talking to their obvious regular customers. The staff are very loud, one has a Janice from friends type laugh, not great when you’re sitting right in front of her, not very professional. Prices are low and apparently it’s cos they’re mainly cash only but I think it’s cos it’s the only way to get their regulars to keep coming back.

I am leaving this review as I have been here a few times and the food and service has always been great. But this time I came on a Saturday with my friend who has a terminal illness so thought I would treat him to lunch.i noticed customers sitting down so thought great I can sit down only to be told by the owner we are shut for sit inns in an angry manner. There is a way you should explain to your customers the people who make your business successful. I have no problem with the food or service in the past.i just feel the owner should know it's not acceptable to talk to...
