The Chip Inn is a chippy. But it's also an Indian, a kebab shop and a pizzeria. Normally if a place has such a range then it wouldn't be good at any of them but I'm pleased to say that I've had each from here and The Chip Inn is excellent on all of them. The place is busy so you're pretty much guaranteed that whatever you order is fresh. In terms of the chippy, there is very little food kept in the hot cabinet so you'll probably have to wait while your order is cooked but that means fresh, crispy batter. You're not in Kansas anymore, so they will ask if you want 'salt & vinegar' (I got the fright of my life when I heard this) so one negative is the lack of proper chippy sauce. Fish suppers are class though. For the kebab shop, I've tried a mixed kebab and a donner. Both good. Plenty meat, plenty salad, tasty sauce. Point for improvement- they're making naan breads and pizzas so they could easily do their own pitta style bread for the kebabs. The pre made ones just disintegrate into mush and shop made bread turns a good kebab into a great kebab. Pizzas - again very good and a decent range. Nice sauce, thinnish base decent cheese and toppings. They are not as good as the 'artisan' pizza place over the road, but it's not direct competition. The Chip Inn is cheaper and bigger with a much wider range of toppings. Would recommend the Turkish pizza- donner meat, onions, bit of chilli. Fantastic. Indian- this is what the Chip Inn does best. Really high quality curries, not too greasy like many Indians. Spices are not overdone but there's plenty heat if you want it. Good portions too. Would recommend the lamb saag here. All in all, good food, reasonably priced service is pretty fast. Had delivery once which took over an hour but we were informed when the order was placed. Usually pick up- 15 to 20 minutes even on busy nights. They are well staffed and efficient. Really pleased that I've got such a good take away...
Read moreCool staff , frienldy and refreshing, the chap with the glasses is very polite and friendly. However! There was a woman tall blonde , common and obviously not from Dunblane, a large built bucci woman, she STOLE a pound from me , I asked how much are the lollies? 20p? I was wanting a bunch , she refused to answer me , took the pound opened till and put it in then walked away to talk to staff, some guy perhaps her partner was so Rude aswell . Tiny shop, self service juice fridge , no other customers in, I grabbed 2 cans of cola and took the few steps towards cashpoint , instantly this man was straight into the fridge, the boss asked what you doing and the reply was basically "double checking this customers not stolen Any cans " assumptions, maybe its something he has done , but I was FURIOUS ,made to feel like a criminal, white trash the both of them , probably from Plean or fallin or something, which makes me understand the reasons behind my stolen money and this dramatic display of rudeness from the both of them. Not seen them for a while now, they will be dipping the till etc , just scum . Other than that the guys are all cool , I like the music gives me the glimpse into their culture a little. Its a good thing, Review left by the 10" Calzone with chicken and peppers " pay by card or juice...
