I would love to give this new cafe a 5 star review but our experience fell somewhat short of that. I get that this is a new business, and I wish them well, but in my experience there are a few fundamentals that need improved. One is that the staff seem more interested in conversations with specific customers, and between themselves, than noticing what is going on in the cafe. I tried three times to say "excuse me" to attract attention, whilst standing in the middle of a fairly empty cafe, but the younger staff member was so absorbed in chatting they just didn't notice. The two staff on duty chatted amongst themselves whilst three tables, including ours, had dirty dishes on them. And we waited half an hour for a sandwich that didn't appear as it appeared the order had been forgotten, despite it being fairly quiet. A staff member apologised profusely and refunded the cost of the sandwich. But I'd rather have had the sandwich, and felt that someone, anyone, actually noticed us as customers. As I say, I do wish this new business well in these particularly difficult times. For them to survive, I think they need to be more conscious and aware of customers, and less self absorbed. What a lovely, well laid out place, it’s beautiful . We both had the vegetable soup which without a doubt was the most beautiful, tastiest vegetable soup I can remember.
I also had a cinnamon bun, heated and with fresh cream, omg. That was soft, delicious, fragrant and yummy 😋 plus coffee obvs.
What a treat it all was. Go, go, you must experience the Cow and Parrot. We will definitely return 😊👍🏼 (with others).

I would have happily spent longer enjoying the atmosphere and food, but a walk round the Birks of Aberfeldy was calling to burn off a few of the...
