We phoned ahead to see if they could take us as a junior football club. They said yes. Got there and plenty of room. You could tell they didn't really want the hassle. The barmaid with the fan round her neck was lovely. The other two young people were quite rude. We had limited options to order but still made the order. Ordered 8 plain burgers only for the burgers to be brought out with cheese. If we wanted cheese we'd have ordered plain cheese burgers. The waiter left them sitting and said we could figure it out. I had to then order another PLAIN burger without cheese just so my son would eat it. I was the only one who ordered another burger yet they charged us for an extra two on the bottom of the bill insisting they had 18 burgers come out of the kitchen. The food is lovely and portions are large so there's no way any of us would've ate anymore. Yet they demanded our money for these which two parents had to pay for on top of their meals as they were last out of the restaurant. We just gave them 500 quid for a lunchtime sit and a few parents gave tips accumulating to £20 which they never even mentioned charging for these additional burgers not forgetting they wouldn't take them back as they were not plain. The young girl apparently took my telephone number and was going to check the kitchen hadn't made the mistake and call me to reimburse. Needless to say they don't care as we are back to Northern Ireland.
Really disappointed as the food is really nice but our group will never eat here again and we come through Girvan all the time for trips. Such a disappointment we were not treated like a paying...
Read moreHave had many happy meals in the past, but on a cold wintery January Sunday afternoon, I went along for a Sunday roast lunch. There was only one young lady on duty front of house ( but 3 chefs in the kitchen). The young lady was having to do the bar, seating and greeting, take food orders, clean the tables , serve the meals, answer the telephones for bookings, serve on the bar, take orders for takeaways, set the tables, answer queries from the owner (who was relaxing at home) and also prepare and serve sweets and coffee. Even as capable and smiling as the young lady was ,it was clearly too much for one person. Eventually, I got served with a lovely roast dinner,( 5 vegetables, 2 different potatoes and 3 different meats, a desert and a drink for only £18) but I was annoyed when I saw the head chef leave the building with a hot meal to be served to the òwner of the restaurant at her home some 20 miles away while other people were waiting to be served and as I was concerned for the distress of the young lady I placed a complaint online via Facebook. The complaint was immediately taken down off Facebook and never replied to . The owners are abusing their young staff and also refuse to allow bad reviews on Facebook. The one-star review for service does not reflect the hard work of the one young lady attempting to do everything. It is more for the owner not helping out and demanding their lunch being delivered to...

Visited here last month and was pretty underwhelming first off the pricing it’s definitely over priced I had a pizza it came out in reasonable time they didn’t even bother cutting it into slices having to use your cutlery or hands for a pizza that cost around £11-£15 you’d think they would cut it themselves but they didn’t I’ve not gone back so maybe they have sorted that the decor also was a problem when I went in very poor lighting just seemed to lack any sort of atmosphere I’ve had the opportunity to drive past a few times it looks slightly better chips costing £4 or so honestly I’d recommend going elsewhere and holding off until they sort the few issues they do have. I did however have to wait around 5 minutes for the bill my guess was under staffed but really it does come back around to the price the cost can come down but that’s if they want to I’ve gathered a few opinions from locals having said the same the pricing being the problem especially for a town like girvan but who knows good luck...
