Having thoroughly enjoyed a walk through the Birks of Aberfeldy we looked forward to a decent refreshment nearby. Imagine my delight when I realised that I could smell roasting coffee beans.  We followed the scent to GlenLyon Coffee roasting house on the skirts of Aberfeldy. A wee oasis. Very welcoming and friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating covered in the style of a Yurt. Beautifully crafted wood with canvas.  There was of course hand sanitiser available and Covid rules were clearly stated. The team were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. (I love my coffee so that counts). I ordered and paid for latte, (phone or card payment ok) and within a few minutes coffee was delivered. It looked good,  smelled better and tasted great at a very reasonable price too.  I sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the view to the hills. Ok there are some buildings in the way but you can still enjoy the tops of the hills. The atmosphere in the cafe was great. There were musical instruments which were available to play, ( in non covid times) and the piped music was first class.  Not too loud, but loud enough to be enjoyed. I've now been twice and will probably go again before we leave Aberfeldy. A great wee find, definitely try it out.

I had originally found out about Glen Lyon from the coffee festival in glasgow a few years back and got the chance to visit the roasters on a recent camping trip. The coffee here has to be in my top 5. I dont know or if its the beans or the staff technique. But it was amazing. We got 2 different bean in cappuccino form, and the flavours/ tasting notes were so distinct. I loved it and would stop by again if im passing through

Stopped in for coffee and cake, both of which were excellent. Never had courgette and lime cake before but superb. Great atmosphere with americana piped music. Very good service. Sat under cover outside, no real view but very comfortable. The town of Aberfeldy was pretty disappointing but, this place made up for it. Recommended

Lovely find in Aberfeldy, the coffee is absolutely fantastic! We were at the highland chocolatier (also recommend), and i asked where they got their coffee from, and it was from Glen Lyon (red stag espresso) - so on the way back, found it, and bought some to take home. The coffee is so good, the best i have had! the actual cafe/shop, is really nice, has a nice relaxed feel to it the staff - the lassie who served us was very helpful!

will be ordering some more online, and next time i am in Aberfeldy, i will be...

My wife, infant daughters and I stopped in on our way to a holiday in June 2024 and had a fantastic experience. All of the staff were tremendously friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a double buggy which we easily manoeuvred in the cafe. We sat in for coffee and cake which was absolutely delicious. We will definitely visit the next time we are back and are kicking ourselves we didn’t pick up some of the coffee...
