Greggs — Restaurant in Scotland

No issues with the service or the quality of what was available, the reason it's not a 5* review is down to the lack of products available at my time of visit. I know how difficult it can be to judge what to make to ensure the customer has a good choice against having to reduce or waste any over production. Today for whatever reason they got it wrong, seriously wrong, there was nothing left in the baguette/sandwich/roll to heat and very little choice in the cold, filled range. They had a half dozen soups and plenty of wedges but no other hot snacks!!

Fortunately there was a choice of warm bakes/sausage rolls (both meat and veggie)/pizza slices but not sure how long they would last given the queue behind me and lack of choice elsewhere!

Maybe just a bad day at the office, production planning melt down or just exceptionally busy I don't know. The staff were very nice, the place was clean........it was just a lack of product availability at lunch time that was the issue.

I will try again and if this visit is just a blip I'll re-write and...

I just wanted to leave a nice review for the lovely lady that served me today. I didn't catch her name but she had blonde hair and was the loviest woman I think had ever served me in Dumfries. I ordered through UberEats for collection and she was apologetic that it wasn't ready, I wasn't upset that it wasn't ready, I understood it would take a couple minutes, I just wanted to be ready for it. She had the most positive attitude, not only with me but I overheard her dealing with other customers and her attitude was so sweet the whole time. I got a free drink for the wait which made my day because I currently have the flu and the only hot drink I’ve had the last 4 days has been Lemsip so it was a lovely break. We generally like Greg's but this was not a good experience. It seems the problem Gregg's has in lock down, as they serve you at the door, is that you cannot see and choose the food you would like. The branch visited today had a very small print out of the full menu stuck behind the person who was serving . Their attitude was the same as it would have been had you already made a choice I.e. hurried., let's move on to next customer asap and with people waiting to be served behind us, we ended up buying items we probably wouldn't have chosen given time to consider our choices.
