Greggs — Restaurant in Scotland

I visited Greggs today to buy some pastries for my husband and daughter for our Saturday trip . Me and my daughter were served by Sharon who took our order .l scanned my Greggs app and paid then to only realised that the pastries where totally cold when picking them up from counter. I only looked at the sales assistant and she went - I know love I’m really sorry . I then left to the car just outside the Greggs where I told my husband that these pastries is cold and he said he would prefer warm food and if I could change it . I returned in store within 1 minute and asked the sales assistant Sharon if I could change these to the warm ones . She replied that because I left the store there is nothing she could do now . She explained to me that Greggs is not hot food buffet therefore they are not obligated to warn customers if any of the food is cold . I replied that I would only be a good customer service to at least let a customer know so they can make decision to buy it or not like they do in other branches . I then purchased 2 hot stake bakes and left the cold chicken bakes at the counter and told sales assistant she could bin them if she wanted . She took the cold chicken bakes away and served me the hot stake bakes .

I do understand company policies etc and that I lost my chance to change my pastries to warm ones just because I left the store for a moment . But we all know that that all it takes is a good customer service and walking that extra mile for someone - especially if you know all you could do to avoid the incident in first place is let the customer know that the food is cold and ask them if they...

Ordered via the app to click and collect. Tells you only to arrive exactly at your time. I went as directed. Stood at the counter where I was actively ignored by the counter assistant. She got another order ready for a just eat driver behind me. I could see my order on the side but when I spoke to her after she handed the delivery driver their order she ignored me and walked off to serve the quieing customers. I waited 25mins. Was very quick service but didn’t feel rushed he still engaged in a lovely conversation with me telling me about his little boy which made me smile.
