One Star – Absolutely Disgraceful Behaviour

I don’t normally leave reviews, but after the way I was treated here, I feel like I have to warn others.

Had a lovely lunch on Friday 20th June with my mother — food was great, staff were friendly, all was well... until I tried to pay and was told cash only (who doesn’t take card in 2025?!). I went to get cash, and lo and behold, the cash machine ate my card. I phoned the operator, got nowhere, so I explained the situation to staff — they kindly said I could return to pay it later. Fair enough.

Fast forward to Tuesday 24th, after walking miles in the pouring rain, I returned to settle the bill like any decent person would. I waited around awkwardly for 5 minutes just to be spoken to like I was trying to pull a fast one.

I tried explaining everything — the date, what we ate, the cash machine situation — only to be cut off mid-sentence by a young staff member with an attitude that could sour milk. I was told they “couldn’t just take our word for it” in front of other customers, as if I was some kind of con artist trying to scam a sandwich. I didn’t walk several miles soaking wet to lie about a bill. What a joke.

Her tone? Rude. Her attitude? Appalling. Her professionalism? Non-existent. Honestly, the way we were treated was embarrassing and humiliating.

What happened to basic human decency and gratitude? I made the effort to come back and do the right thing, and this is how I get treated? No thank you.

I won’t be back — and I’ll be telling everyone I know to steer clear too. There are plenty of cafes with good food and a shred of respect for their customers. This one clearly isn’t...

Hamptons Brunch really need to regularly update their instagram, and their google opening times.

Their instagram is sorely lacking with regularly updated opening hours. After walking with our new baby to get some food to find they’re actually shut today, despite what google says, I then checked their instagram again to see they had updated their opening hours 4 days ago, but I really think this should have been updated via a post. Their bio should have their opening hours. When the only way to check opening hours and menus etc is instagram, this should be updated regularly and clearly, having Christmas opening hours on the main part would make many people think they are actually open on a Monday. Waited 25 minutes for a fry up and two rolls first thing when no other customers where in yet, £10.50 for this fry up that tasted honestly awful, that amount for £10.50 is not worth it, Sausage, yes one links sausage 🤣 tasted slightly spicy and the breads where the smallest slice of bread I've ever seen, the 1 square sausage tasted vegan and I tried to eat it but I honestly couldn't🤢 1 egg worth of scrambled egg? And one tiny hash brown🤣 it was all just flavourless which I don't understand how that can happen. Decor is minimalistic and nice but Won't be back, we also got two caramel cakes which where good but £3.50 each! not worth the price at all....
