I'm a fairly regular customer in Jadoo - especially since I discovered the wonderful "Chetinadu" curry which is very different from mainstream curries I have had here or elsewhere. It has a unique taste and is absolutely delicious. Indeed, it's hard to see how I would stray from this choice and move back to the mundane. Having said that, there are other unusually-named or rarely-encountered dishes on the menu which I am determined to sample. Jadoo's menu is indeed quite different from most mainstream Indian restaurants. Staff are always efficient and very pleasant, in particular the very chatty and knowledgable young man [shame on me for not catching his name] who takes care to have a wee blether with customers. One little downside concerns the starters like pakora, chicken chat and so on which are served with a simple little bit of lettuce leaf and sauce, of course. I'm more used to a little more - like a slice of cucumber, a tomato, a slice of lemon. It's a minor point and fades into irrelevance once you are presented with the wonderful Chetinadu. Waiting/managerial/proprietorial staff are all very pleasant, in particular the...
Read moreExtremely poor delivery service, will not be ordering delivery from here again. We waited 2.5 hours for our food. I phoned the restaurant twice and was told both times it would be delivered within 15-20 minutes. In the end after 2 hours of waiting I went down to the restaurant myself and the food was nowhere to be seen, apparently the delivery driver was lost despite me explaining to him twice where to find our address. To my amazement there were only 2 tables eating when I arrived, not sure this constitutes being “extremely busy” like I was told on the phone. I had to wait another 15 minutes for the food to be cooked again while I was there, since the delivery driver was nowhere to be found.
Very limited sympathy from staff despite an apology, no offer of any complimentary food or a partial refund which is outrageous after over 2 hours of waiting. I even had to beg for the £3 delivery charge back since I’d driven to the restaurant myself, which they only gave very begrudgingly!
It’s not the first time we’ve had long delivery waits from here. Tasty food but truly awful service, there’s plenty of other nice Indian restaurants...
Read moreWe enjoyed a meal at this restaurant last night with our family. On arrival, despite making a booking and the restaurant being significantly less than half full, no table was ready and we were asked to wait elsewhere while one was prepared.
Having ordered drinks, there was quite a wait before any food order was taken, and when it was ordered, the courses came out to us out of sequence, for example my sister in laws starter came to us after everyone else’s, and immediately prior to everyone else receiving their main course.
That said, the manager came to apologise, explaining his staff were new and learning the ropes
Now, if you’ve got this far, that’s the less than ideal stuff out of the way first.
The food is excellent quality, hot, fresh and really well presented while being good value for money. We enjoyed a mix of dishes from the starter menu and main course. Plenty of vegetarian options along with those who ate meat eaters.
Given time to develop the service staff, which I’m sure they will, this place will reach its full potential.
Atmosphere, parking disabled access are all good and...
