The Bobbing John is a standard Wetherspoons pub with a beer garden. The staff a generally friendly but as with most pubs their are one or two less friendly staff. The food is usually fine but I have noticed that some of the food is returned by some clientele. They have an open fire which is a nice touch for the winter. There is a single TV next to the bar but as with most Wetherspoons no music is played. It is a very busy place at the weekends and at this point it can be difficult to get served at the bar because of the number of customers and limited staff numbers. Overall one of the better Wetherspoons but still room for improvement. Last time we were in it took 35 minutes from ordering food until we got it. At least two of the meals were under the heat lamps at kitchen as we could see them from our seat. We had to order other drinks for when it eventually arrived. Several other customers got their meals prior to ourselves including one of our friends who arrived 10 minutes after we did. This has apparently happened to others recently but it's the first time it's happened to us. Luckily we weren't in a hurry but could have been a problem if we were.

Friendly staff and fairly typical for a wetherspoons , relaxed atmosphere with nicr decor. Outside seating at the back with clean tables, toilets , baby changing area and great amenities for disabled. Area is light and spacious with seperate disabled entrance and lift for 2nd set of toilets. Drink and meal deals ok for pub grub and attracts all ages of patrons with great street views

A very good addition to the pub scene in Alloa, big pub in a former old and historic town centre store. Spacious and comfortable. Good value and welcoming.... Was a nice place to call in and just have a beer, or coffee. Wetherspoons, with all the usual Wetherspoons fayre and meal offers.

Joined up with family and friends that had eaten here and were having a quiet drink. A couple with baby in pram left, leaving me and two other males, had another drink each, now I am very much a regular in here but time for last bus so off I went, imagine my surprise when I get a message that the two guys been refused a drink, apparently had enough 😁😁 joking surely, but no, a colleague was sent to tell them no service on managers orders, this what shall we say stand in manager probably most senior on duty stayed well away no backbone to tell them herself, 'same manager' a short while ago came to the bar on request of a colleague, the colleague asked a customer for ID he didn't have any, well we can't serve you, manager watched as the male wandered off to bottom end of pub, full view of the bar and he drank a pint of beer, this 'manager' did nothing. Obviously likes to show power from a distance, ridiculous I am taking my custom elsewhere. Clearly a pub where if...

Had lunch , was terrible from start to finish . Think the server was high she tried to explain track and trace , signing in , downloading app, ordering process , in about 20 seconds , sat down after downloading app and came over straight away to ask what out order was ? Eh you told me to download app ?! Hadn’t even looked at menu ! She was very loud , no mask on , shouting to other staff members , she needs to learn to be a bit more discreet . What we did order we were told there were none left , so tried to order other things , came very poorly put together . Chicken wrap came exactly like that , no lettuce nothing ! Cheese tuna wrap came with no cheese ? Oh and table wasn’t cleaned when we sat down ?! It was covered in crumbs , food...
