The Ladybird Tearoom Ltd — Restaurant in Scotland

My husband and I have been regular visitors to the Ladybird Tearoom since it opened. Whenever we have tea we always ask for extra hot water as the tea is sometimes too strong, and have never been charged in all this time.

After today's visit sadly we will not be going back. Today we were charged £1 for the hot water. When challenged and advised that we have never been charged for extra hot water the waitress said that if we had had it it in a jug instead of a tea pot we would not have been charged! Did you ever! We did not make a scene we just left and said that we did not feel nice about the whole experience.

After today's experience we will now advise that last week our teapots were less than half full of water and we did not say a word as it was the waitress's first day

If I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, the café felt cold, unwelcoming, and lifeless. I ordered a coffee, but it was lukewarm at best. When I politely requested additional hot water, the owner rudely informed me that it would cost an extra £1. I refused, as this is utterly unreasonable.

To make matters worse, I later witnessed the owner loudly arguing with someone outside. The language she used was so offensive that it was completely inappropriate in a place where children were present.

I had a terrible experience at this place. The staff's behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. They made us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in.

To make things worse, the food was clearly off – it smelled bad and tasted worse. It was inedible and definitely not safe to eat. When we politely raised concerns, they were dismissive and unhelpful also i saw trace of rodents on the floor
