La Casa del Caffe — Restaurant in Scotland

Visited today, drove 40m from seeing the Cafe online it looked lovely from the outside. Brought my mum for a treat to enjoy a nice coffee as shes been going through some Cancer treatment.

Came inside & sat at a table for two.

The cafe was quiet maybe there were 3/4 tables on the go max. Blonde waitress with glasses eventually came to our table after 10m saying they were very busy it would be a wait for food. We said fine, we actually only wanted coffee and a cake. She seemed like that was still a problem, she said she'd get back to us. She was rolling her eyes, huffing at everyone. She even dropped a lady's walking stick, she did pick it up again but didnt apologise to her.

Still given no menus to look at 20m later still waiting. We decided to go get a takeaway as had drove too far to leave. No apology from the waitress hadn't gotten to us yet noy a single acknowledgement. The man behind the till offered a menu. But i said we wanted a takeaway now.

The takeaway took maybe 5m they were able to make the coffee as soon as we went upto the till so it didnt seem to be a long wait. The signs for the cakes dont seem to be whats available.

The atmosphere seems a bit chaotic for a few tables, the lady kept saying she didnt know how to work the till to put things on the till like ice cream or what tables it was for. The other brunette girl who then served us had to ask again what our order was for, was it takeaway etc and said she didnt know how to put the ice cream through the till either to help the first waitress.

No one in the place seems to want to be working there. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day. But have seen a few similar reviews looking back. Atmosphere was uncomfortable and staff were unpleasant. It might be they genuinely cant work the till and need training. But customer service and being nice costs nothing!...

Today I went to try this place not far from home. From the content on social media, it seemed to be a nice place, but our experience was terrible. The welcome at the entrance was not the best, then the waitress pressured us to order (she came 3 times to ask if we were ready to order) ... if a customer goes to a new place, needs time to look at the menu. In the end, we were "forced to order". The two lattes ordered were undrinkable, in fact after the first sip we left them there. My pancake was burnt and tasteless, you could only taste the burnt flavor ... also, it was served without whipped cream; on the menu it says it is served with whipped cream. My partner's veggie breakfast was disgusting ... the beans were cold and the potato scones raw ... in general the quality of the food is really poor. in addition, the whole thing was accompanied by the smells coming from the kitchen…a good extractor wouldn't hurt…our clothes stinked…!!! the prices are high for what is offered, they didn't even notice if we had drunk our coffees or not. I usually never leave negative reviews, if the place doesn't satisfy me, I won't go back, but this time it was too much…you can't open a business if you are not able to offer an adequate...

Visited here this morning after being recommended by a friend, was told the food and staff were lovely - couldn’t have been anymore wrong. The staff were the rudest, vilest people I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. They don’t have a clue how to make a coffee, had to ask 3 times for it to be remade and eventually had to change my order (my Tassimo can make a better latte). I ordered the most basic thing you can - scrambled egg and got given an omelette, complained and then was given the “scrambled egg” however I’m fairly certain it was the omelette scrambled up. I complained again and the waitress rolled their eyes and grabbed the plate off my table. I was not given an apology at any point of the disastrous meal and not offered an alternative. If you hate your job so much please change profession as the two waitresses have zero business being in hospitality.. so much for the customer always being right. Won’t be surprised if your business is closed down within the year if your staff have that attitude and that’s the standard of food being severed. Will never step foot in your establishment again and highly recommend that no one else...
