This will be our last visit. We have been eating at Mamma Franca for over a year now. However last night instead of 2 Cod suppers we were instead sent 1 Cod supper and the second box had a tiny broken off piece of Cod and the rest replaced with haddock. My partner phoned to make the staff aware of this mistake giving them the opportunity to rectify the mistake. . instead we were met with a bad attitude from the wee boy who answers the phone who just told us that we were wrong. When paying £8 per supper this is totally unacceptable. What has probably happened is the fish fryer has broken one piece of cod in the fryer and instead or starting again with a fresh fillet they have decided to try save what little they could and replace the rest with a fillet of haddock instead thinking we would not notice. But considering both peices of fish were different in size shape and taste I find this bad attitude and response an insult considering I am a chef to trade who has been cooking and serving fish for years to be palmed off by someone who answers the phone and whacks salt and vinegar on a bag of chips totally unacceptable.

What a terrible attitude to have. . . if you purposely break the cod then why was one supper a whole piece of cod and the other a tiny broken off piece with the addition of a whole piece of haddock ? hope your proud of how you responded to some negative feedback. . rather than accept responsibility and address the error best to keep having a bad attitude. We gave you the chance to at the very least apologise over the phone and you spoke to us like we dont dont the difference between two fish. . apparently you guys dont. . That's why you got this review. . because I dont usually leave a bad review. Maybe you should stick to not responding to negative feedback because this response shows how much you care when you charge £8 a fish supper. No need to tell me you dont want me back I have already told you I wont be back. So wind your neck in you wont be in business much longer if you treat paying customers which such little respect and allow your staff to run your business into the ground with such poor customer service. any time I was in the shop there was far too many staff all standing doing nothing. . literally nothing. . No wonder you need to charge so much for the food you serve they are eating you out of business with the wage...
Read moreI don’t normally come to do reviews but I placed an order just before 5 o’clock and was told it would be here between 18:30-18:45. Although, when I was going through the app it said quickest time would be before then! I only ordered a chips and cheese and I’m only a 5 minute drive away, the food Is always amazing from there but the delivery is a joke, the last time I ordered I had the same problem and they sent me just chips and forgot the cheese after waiting hours again and had to wait an extra half hour on the right order being sent! I defo recommend to pick up from the shop as delivery is shocking. I did expect my order to be delivered before then as it was such a small order on a Tuesday night and it said right after I placed it that they got the order. Here I am waiting 18:55 and still no order! Just phoned there to ask how long it will be... they told me they just saw my order as it didn’t print out and wasn’t even a sorry or offered nothing! The boy on the phone said it wasn’t his fault of the shops fault as it didn’t print 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I said I wanted a refund as he said I would have to wait on the delivery man coming back! Read moreEntered 3 people in shop ordered small fish and chips. As always no fish ready and as always only black pudding steak pie or sausages and hamburgers ready even though over 75% off customers are ordering fish and chips so within 4 mins 7 bits of fish placed above fryer(in heated part) they then continue to prepare on-line orders and this is all good however they are still awaiting other items out the fryers to complete the orders.Then after a 15 mins wait i then get the last piece of fish that had been standing for 11 mins now. Would/could have done this quicker at home. How no one has thought while we are waiting on these items still in the fryers for the online orders why not give out the fresh fish and chips we do have ready to the 2 guys sitting waiting in the shop as the fish is fresh. But no ingenuity used by the staff that fry. What could have been 5 mins took 15 not great service by fryers.
And i have complained before and reason given for delay was people want fresh fish but after tonight's display (as above) that's not the case.
If someone is in your shop longer than 10 mins you have failed them.
Stop wasting our time in your quest to not waste fish.
Chip shops are ment to be convenient this one...
