I went to the drive thru tonight & it was a typically busy night. I ordered 1x mcspicy meal & 1 x chicken select meal.
I politely requested that if my order was going to be delayed any length of time (taking into account they were asking most cars to ‘park up’ to wait) could they please just bring a fresh milkshake out with my order. I don’t think this was an unreasonable request as I don’t particularly like drinking a melted milkshake whilst eating my food. This request seemed to offend the food assistant who was shoving a pre made milkshake into my hand & then had to proceed to run this request past the ‘shift manager’.
I then proceeded to wait a further 30 minutes & watched multiple cars go round the drive thru & be served large bags of food despite also being asked to ‘park up’ way after I had been severed.
I eventually challenged one of the staff members who quite frankly couldn’t care less. I stated to him I wished to wait no longer & wanted a refund. He said I had to come inside to speak with a manager.
As I was entering McDonald’s, 1 of the 2 staff who were taking order to the car park was lifting further meals to take out & I physically witnessed her lift all bar 1. She then past us on her wait out.
Surprise surprise, can you guess whose order had been left on the counter with a small paragraph wrote on the receipt. I was unable to see what this said but can confirm this was more than just my car reg & colour as that was what I read at the top of the receipt!
The counter assistant appeared nervous and shocked, quickly grabbing the receipt and “running” off to get a manager.
I am absolutely convinced that this note stated to delay bringing my order out! The duty manager did not even challenge why I wanted a refund or what she could do to resolve my situation. I wasn’t even offered an apology!
Silly childish behavior in my opinion likely due to a reasonable request that was out of their comfort zone.
Absolutely disgusted at both the service & customer service at this McDonalds! Definitely advise you...
Read moreLet's start by having a predefined concept of what fast food is. Over 30 minutes waiting is not fast food! The obvious prioritisation of delivery drivers over customers in-store is all too apparent. The fact there were delivery bags waiting for 15 minutes, ondrivers who didn't show for their pickup, heightened the already tense feeling in the store (I refuse to call this a restraunt).
By the time my food arrived (which was unceremoneously dropped into the bag, which was also clearly crumpled and party ripped) the food was cold. At this point, I could have asked them to make it again, but who wants to spend another 30 minutes waiting on their food order again.
When a customer raised that she had waited over 30 minutes for her order, the on duty manager told her that she was wrong and there is no way it would rake this long. The same duty manager who barked at a delivery driver "well there's only 2 of us on. What do you want me to do about it?" This was heard by everyone waiting on their food. A terrible display of management.
There were so many people waiting around on their order, the atmosphere was tense, with people bumping in to each other. A designated waiting area would be an idea. Something the staff could have orchestrated. In stead, staff members pushed by customer, without so much as an "excuse me".
Mcdonald has continued to dwindle in both quality and service. I understand the shop was busy, but management should have worked harder to communicate with the customers about the current volume. Having someone actually quality control the food before it's packed would have helped a lot. In my half hour wait, I counted no less than 7 customers who had to return to the front of the line to return incorrect/cold items. The lack of caring for the customer base was...

One of the worst McDonald's restaurants. Managed badly. Its dirty every time we go to sit in so we don't anymore. As for drive through. There's a reason there are so many waiting spots in the car park. They will give you icecreams which will be melted by the time your food arrives or hot drinks which will go cold.
Check your food before you leave. There's nearly always something missing (especially sauces).
I thought I would give them another chance by getting a mcdelivery. The bag given to the user driver is sealed. Once again an item was missing so one of our family was without their meal. The manager thought it acceptable that I should go back to the restaurant to get the item with no compensation & told me to claim a refund on the delivery through uber. It wasn't Ubers fault & Idinthabe an account with user, nor did I make payment to them.
Even the Mcdonalds bot (automated chat service) treats you better & understands giving a better resolution and response! If I could give zero stars for service I would.
Go to heartlands in Whitburn instead they may be slow, but they're a lot nicer and treat you...
