FINAL UPDATE: after responding to this review and not answering my messages despite saying on Tuesday I would get a refund, they blocked my number and messages so I could not contact them. I was only speaking to them on WhatsApp’s not the multiple platforms they are saying and they told me to place a refund request with deliveroo after I told them deliveroo won’t refund and I have to go through them. They do not handle criticism well and have been utterly horrific during this week. I spent £20 on food that had hair in it (now added the black hair - I’m blonde). All I was asking was for them to confirm how long the refund would take that they told me on Tuesday they would initiate, then responded to my review rather than simply answer my message and blocking me. Thankfully deliveroo, who all communication has been sent, refunded the money and have said they will look into this.

I HAD HAIR IN MY FOOD!! Unfortunately I was not able to eat my food due to finding a hair in the food. I provided them with pictures and apologised and offered a replacement but the hair in the food put me off getting a replacement and eating the other food I ordered. It’s a shame as it looked good.

REVISION: After having my messages ignored for 4 days, they answered my phone call and advised me I would get a refund however have not answered messages confirming when the refund will happen and are ignoring my messages (reading them but not answering). I originally put that the service was really good when I first reported the hair in my food, however after that they have been cold and hard to get hold with not telling me an outcome to the food in my hair. I was not happy when I did manage to get in touch but whoever answered the phone had an attitude right from answering the phone and had to put me onto someone else. I’m a big sweet lover and have tried many dessert places around Livingston, but Oh Sugar truly stands out! At first, I was surprised by how affordable the menu was, and honestly, I didn’t expect much — but once I tried their Belgian waffles with strawberries, I was blown away! The portion was generous, the taste was fresh and amazing, and the quality was way beyond expectations.

Since then, I’ve tried their sundaes, milkshakes, and ice creams — every visit has been better than the last. The atmosphere is family-friendly, the staff is lovely, and the quality is consistently top-notch. And the cherry on top? Free parking! We had such a lovely experience here. The service was genuinely amazing. The man who helped us, who I believe was the owner, went out of his way to make sure everyone felt welcome. He was so kind and patient with a child in our group who struggles with decision-making due to autism, offering her samples and suggesting flavour combinations she ended up loving.
