This was quite possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences we have EVER had. To start things off we walked in and we were awkwardly left standing in the middle of the dining area having booked a table in advance and there wasn't any ready.... Next we ordered our food, that went smoothly, the waiter was friendly but this was where things really started to go bad, it took 40 minutes for us to get starters, I could understand that if the place was busy but it wasn't, if anything it was quiet just a poorly managed kitchen.... Next we waited a further 45 minutes, I decided to ask one of the waitresses where our mains were, she said she'd check and shortly returned to tell me they'd be ready soon, 5 minutes later the food arrived, the carbonara was cold and my sister's king prawn pasta was greasy and served up on a chipped plate, also cold ... We got two pizzas which looked like they went to another table before ours, those were undercooked and our courgette fries were horrid, they simply tasted of dirty oil so we just left those but didn't complain after reading the owner is unpleasant. HOWEVER the icing on the cake was when we paid the bill, it came to a grand total of £95 so as a group of 2 couples we decided to half the bill, the waitress couldn't do the maths so we let her know it was £47.50 each, we tapped our cards and left 10 minutes later we then received an angry call from the waitress "Emily" accusing us of telling her the wrong amount when in fact her incompetence was the reason she charged us the wrong amount, we returned and paid the rest as a good gesture but can hands down say I'd NEVER...

I recently visited on my birthday - a local restaurant for my family whom I was visiting at the time I was up from London. My dad had booked online with a voucher code of 50% and informed them of my birthday on the request also- however when we arrived the code was not showing on the booking for the 50% deal. We have been to the restaurant for many celebrations and we support our local businesses often, however they did not honour the discount which we found rather cheeky as we had definitely added this. The steak we ordered, was really not good at all - the pepper corn sauce was like a sweet gravy jelly with pepper corns in it and was cooked well done when asked for medium rare - we did advise to the staff at the time when asked if the meal was alright. The staff were not very pleasant, and were making jokes about the issue of the discount code which just also made our experience a little bit naff. There was also 0 effort made even after talking about the fact of my birthday- not even a candle in the dessert when we know they have done this previously for birthdays. They then added an 15% service charge which was optional to pay however on a Monday night birthday and not the best experience we were just a little bit disappointed. Over all the experience was not great and I doubt we will return for another special occasion. Not the usual...

Booked a table for 5pm,arrived promptly waited for five mins before we ordered drinks ,10min wait for a drink were deciding on what to have mabye 10mins 15min wait for starter which was fine as freshly cooked mabye 15mins to eat starter ,and then mabye 10mins till main course which again was fine as freshly cooked , after finishing I decided to have a coffee and my husband a brandy debating whether to ha e a dessert when the head waited placed the bill on our table announcing that they needed the table ,when booking table no mention of their hour and a half rule ,I asked to speak to manager (Paulo) but no he stayed in the kitchen so the officious head waiter came across and asked why we had to leave when we were not really finished our meal the reply was we are very busy and need the table ,I asked why this was not pointed out at time of booking ,if you expect freshly made food you are prepared to wait but this was ridiculous we rushed our last drink decided against dessert and left needless to say we will never be back and I would not recommend this restaurant, the food was very good and the girls serving were really good so no problem there ,but to be rushed out by putting bill on table and saying we need the...

I have been wanting to try this place for ages, the service was brilliant and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was also very good, nice and lively. We got a booth which was very nice. The only reason it’s not full stars all round was I got the Mamas lasagna and I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a béchamel sauce in it. But maybe that’s the way it’s meant to be made….I'm not sure. But usually all lasagna I’ve ever had is made with a béchamel. Apart from that it was all amazing! The lasagna kept me full all day it was so filling and satisfying. Also we forgot one of our shopping bags and the waitress came and found us on the street with the bag. Very kind and good service all day. Would definitely recommend this place.

Edited to add in the fact that a tip was automatically added. I sae it at the till when paying and asked what was just added before vocally telling me the price and she said a voluntary service charge. I explained its not voluntary if its added without the knowledge of the customer. Uk pay a proper wage tips are jot and should not be essential. (I have worked in the industry for a long time and never expected it, its a nice bonus but should be a choice, on card machine for them to choose without judgment rather than maniplulated into giving it!) Lovely food, however, asked for water each of the 3 times iv been in - only got it once though so not perfect (hate nagging people). Foods nice, service generally too!

Went for a family reunion meal with my sister & Mam. Was pretty busy for a Wednesday evening. Service is relaxed Italian style, be prepared to wait for delicious food. I had the seafood linguine with a mixed salad, all the other meals were well presented & delicious. We had 2 rounds of drinks, some starters & desserts. Including service charge we paid about £40 pp, which I thought was excellent value. Recommend booking especially for a weekend.
