We use this cafe every time we're at the (amazing) kids park. Every time they have 4-5 staff serving a half full cafe and a small queue at the takeaway bit, and it's ALWAYS chaos, with people unsure where to stand, you cannot get to see the cakes or ice cream before you actually pay, multiple large dogs standing panting when you're trying to eat or get to the ice cream stand with small toddlers and children around - dog friendly doesn't mean I want a rottweiler in my toddlers face for 10mins! No prices on the freezer ice creams near the main entrance doors, no prices on any of the cakes.
My other half and I joke that they just punch a random number into the calculator each time, we literally never know how much they're charging us because there's no prices on 90% of stuff we buy and you never get a receipt.
The FINAL straw today was today when third time in a row visit they got the order wrong AND it took ages to get the (incorrect) items. Seriously good cakes and coffee but the bizarre ordering and layout experience, anti social dogs inside, waiting for ages for coffee, incorrect items and mystery pricing means we've decided our group will not go back here again, I can't handle how stressful the whole place is. It's a shame because they're brilliantly located at the park and serve really nice food. But if you cannot price/serve "2 coffees, 1 ice cream & 1 cake" correctly without getting it wrong AND taking ages to serve despite not being busy... I think we should give up trying to give them custom. There's better managed and organised cafe places to give money to (by organised I mean in terms of how they process orders as well as literally how the products and payment and waiting for drinks layout works).
I dread to think what the staff would do if you actually had it on a busy day. I'm just not...
Read moreSuch rude service, it felt like they didn't even want customers. Even the older lady who looks like she might own or run the place was very rude. I felt really uncomfortable. Plus it wasn't very clean and the tea tasted cheap and the coffee was burnt. Great location in the park but honestly I'd get some nice takeaway treats from elsewhere and sit on one of the many benches in the park next time I'm in the area. Not worth a visit to this cafe to be either grunted at (at best) or barked at and then to sit at a...
Read moreGood location, but sadly the building isn't fit for purpose. Not the staff's fault. The planners are clearly docile. The place isn't big enough for the purpose intended, could have easily built an upper level. And they need an additional coffee machine to keep up with demand. This is in the middle of October and there is no place to sit as it's full, so you can imagine what the summer would be like, would put people off using...
