Riva — Restaurant in Scotland

It was a Monday so it would be quiet. When I entered there wasn't anyone waiting to greet me, I just stood there for a while. However as mentioned it was a Monday so I suppose it was OK. Once I was seen, I have to say the service was great. However I'm not used to going to dinner for 8pm and then been told the kitchen shuts at 8.25pm so we have to order more or less straight away! If you were there for a 3 course meal. How would you choose a meal then have a starter and then be served the main course all within 25 minutes. This doesn't even give you time to settle first and have a drink and look at the menu! They should tell you when making a booking when the kitchen shuts and not just take the reservation. We ordered starters and mains to come out at the same time! Because of only having a few minutes to order the pizza was soggy and tasted like uncooked dough. However the starters were OK. We didn't complain as we received good service from the waiting staff and it wasn't their fault that the kitchen...

Shocking! The service was very good and the waitresses were friendly. They were polite and excellent with my young daughter however.... The food was terrible. I sent the calimari back which was like chewing undercooked, over salted rubber. I then ordered the Tuna. It was a poor cut from the fish. It was horrifically over salted that completely over powered the taste of the fish. An hour later I still had the salt burn at the back of my throat! We also took the burger, that again was terribly over salted. It was presented very poorly and drenched in mushrooms. What made this meal worse was the chips. They were starchy, greasy, many were brown/black with a nasty texture. My daughter (2 and a half) ate from the kids menu. Her dish was more like a school dinner than an upmarket Bothwell restaurant. Cheep chicken strips with very greasy and completly over salted chips. We paid and left before pudding. We will not be returning ans will not advise...

Looks very nice from outside lots money been spent hear looks good.. Staff very friendly, nice and helpful, for an Italian restaurant your menu is very limited anyway, starters were lovely 5star on that, sadly mains were up to par, I got the pwans, if it was an Indians I understand why it melted my face off, 1st thought was just me but after the 2end bite I had drank my 200mls of coke, and eat thr ice, the pudding thr lady next to me lucky I didn't stick my face in hear ice-cream... Thankfully staff took away wanted to give me it to take away with me.. Didn't eat for the rest of the day sadly my pain had just begun as my gut desided at 4pm too have a war inside it thanks very much for this experience I won't be back, hire sum cooks that taste there food what's the point spending all that money when u won't keep customers...
