At last, the transformation from Eevo Café to Solas Kitchen has been nothing short of remarkable, marking a new chapter in Dalgety Bay café culture (queue singing angels). This gem, now under the stewardship of a dedicated husband and wife team, shines brightly as a beacon of culinary creativity and warm hospitality.
For those of us who were concerned to lose a dog-friendly spot, fear not; Solas Kitchen has not only preserved this cherished attribute but elevated it. Their coffee game is strong, boasting proper Barista magic, alongside a generous selection of milk alternatives.
But where Solas truly distinguishes itself is in the kitchen. On one of my visits, I indulged in the mango and avocado toast - a dish that artfully dances between the lines of innovative and comforting. The combination of flavors was a revelation, with just the right touch of spice to complement the beautifully fresh sourdough toast, just look at that picture. Read moreOur new favourite place in the bay to have breakfast. My wife and I have been several times now. We always get a warm welcome on our arrival. I can highly recommend the veggie breakfast, which is filling and absolutely delicious. Service is attentive and friendly. The coffees are great. My wife's favourite is the pumpkin spiced latte, which she says is simply divine. Prices are very reasonable, and we have no issues with the 10% service charge that is included in the bill because you are always assured of great customer service. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. You can phone and reserve a table if you want to ensure a seating, especially for large groups. Having said that, as a couple who have visited quite regularly, we have always been able to get a table for just the two of us. It was also good to see that doggies are welcome, and they get the same special care and attention. Great food, great service, friendly staff. Highly...
Read moreDecided to try dinner at Solas having previously had a couple of breakfasts here which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very interesting and varied menu with Indian/Korean/Japanese dishes on offer as well as sandwiches/salads etc. We had the tacos(great flavour combinations) and the steak sandwich, also delicious, though it was hard to know what to choose from the menu as everything sounded so tempting! Delicious desserts too, especially the panacotta. We will definitely be returning to sample something else! This place is a great addition to the Dalgety Bay dining scene and makes a welcome change from the usual places. Have to mention the owners/staff too. They are so welcoming, friendly and hard working, the customer service here is second to...
