Worst fillet I’ve ever had. As I have food allergies a steak is usually what I end up ordering as it’s the easiest thing to do that is safe for me. Two of us out of nine ordered the most expensive steak, the fillet. It was chewier and drier than the t-bone that someone else in our party ordered. We had to chew so much and spit out quite a bit of steak. We double checked we received the correct steaks. We ordered them rare as last year they came out over done. They still came out medium-rare to medium. The manager (which we found out later they don’t have a manager right now) stated that they have had an issue recently with the fillets. They should not have it on the menu if they are having known issues with a item!

They forgot my husbands order. We had all been served (8 out of 9) and we were half done with our meals before we saw a waitress we could ask to see if his meal was still coming. They apologised and got it quickly.

We were never asked how our meal was or saw a waitress. We had to find one ourselves to ask for mayo and she never came back. We sat with empty drinks for the second half of our meal and was never asked if we wanted another.

Woman’s restroom...

Visiting the local area we looked for somewhere to eat, we found Skiing Doo with good reviews and looked somewhat different so decided to give it a go ! We walked in. Place was very quiet, but they had to check it they accommodate us as we hadn’t booked. We were seated into a booth after a few minutes. Waiter brought us over some menus and followed with a dog eared piece of paper as the Kids menu. Table was sticky. Condiments on the table looked they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. We ordered 2 x Mac & Cheese, An Angus burger and a kids nuggets and chips and drink for us all. Although the beer I chose was off ! Food arrived after around 20 minutes. We found the 4 cheese Mac & Cheese tasteless. Garlic Bread tasted burnt as If it has been laid on the grill Element. Angus burger was over cooked. Salad on the plate was warm & soggy. Kids nuggets and chips was the best meal out of all of them. Cost us £55. We wouldn’t recommend or return. We witnessed and father and son eat two mouthfuls of there food. Didn’t finish there drinks either. Paid and left after 5 minutes of there food arriving. They were not...

Would give 0 Stars if I could

I have been going to this restaurant since 2000 and have always been able to get a table and the food has been fantastic.

My son and nephew were especially looking forward to going this year year as they were going to have the T-bone steaks

However when we tried to book a table for 4 they said they didn’t take bookings for less than 5 people and would just have to try a walk in. We then went to the restaurant at 5:10pm to see if we could get in, they said they were full and that we could try and we should try again at 7:30pm.

We thought maybe we would go back a little earlier 7pm and wait for a table only to be told that they were now booked until after 8pm and then only if the chef could be persuaded to stay later we may be able to get in then if we came back at that time.

Quite frankly I am disgusted at the service here, not taking bookings for 4 is unbelievable, We were a group of 4 (2 adults and 2 Very hungry teenage boys), and were like to spend over £150 as we were all having steaks

Doubt I’ll ever return to this restaurant unless it...

We popped in here for lunch during a recent stay in the town. We both found the chap working there a little unfriendly when we arrived, and I was a little dismayed to be informed that two of the three vegan items on the menu were unavailable, leaving me only a starter of a vegetable skewer and (shudder) chips, which I was really getting sick of after a few days in Scotland. Seriously, it’s not hard to just offer some basic vegetable dishes so that vegetarians/vegans don’t have to keep resorting to chips. My partner ordered a steak. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. Also, bizarrely, the supposedly vegan kebab was served with a honey dressing, which most vegans won’t eat. They really need to modernise their menu and make it a little more imaginative and flavourful.

Had a lovely meal here. Initially we had booked Winking Owl but after being disappointed there (Menu not as advertised on website). Anyway my husband and I went here without a booking to be told that they were fully booked through till August.... But thanks to the wonderful front of house gent he wangled us a table downstairs for 2. Mia our server gave us our menus and drinks in a quick and chatty manner. Tom ordered the chilli beef nachos/t bone steak/pepper sauce and I had the pulled pork nachos/apple sauce/Mad mac burger(mac n cheese). OMG, the portions were enormous... And with the beer/large white wine everything was perfect.. Can't praise the staff and restaurant enough. Thanks Skiing Doo for coming to the rescue of another wise downbeat night.😄👍

The Skiing Doo represents a large milestone in my girlfriends life; first time eating Chicken Wings, which were amazing by the way. The staff went above and beyond to go the extra mile (shout out to our boy Hayden). As the Tenents and mad dog shots flowed I was encouraged by the good patrons of the Skiing Doo to jump up and play song for the open Mic Night, which we could not recommend more. Scottish hospitality and alcohol left a mark on hearts and souls, and we will be forever grateful to have passed through The Skiing Doo ❣️
