If I could give 0 stars I would. What was supposed to be a nice birthday breakfast with my girlfriend, her sister and friend quickly turned sour. The waitress got my drink order wrong. What was supposed to be a honeycomb cappuccino was instead more like an unsweetened flat white with hardly any milk, as the milk dissipated after 2 sips. Instead she added my flavoured syrup to my girlfriendās drink. And my girlfriendās sister had to wait a further 10 minutes for her drink even after reminding the waitress about it. The coffee coming from a machine with selected settings like you would get in a Greggs or McDonaldās for the record. 3 of us ordered the ābreakfast burrito with the basket of tater totsā and 1 ordered a square sausage roll. The square sausage roll was fine, but the breakfast burrito was just a breakfast wrap; wrapped loosely and not sealed on a grill like a burrito should be. There were no tater tots either, when I asked the waitress where they were she had to check the menu to see what I was even on about; to then say they didnāt get them delivered in that day⦠Now tater tots are just cubed potatoes fried in oil. So I donāt know why theyād need to be ordered in. But the icing on the cake was when I opened up my āburritoā to season my egg I found a black hair in there. I let the waitress know; she apologised and then got onto the kitchen to make me a new one. So my next one arrives and midway through eating it I then pull out another hair, again from the egg, this time it was long and grey, the type of hair the waitress had. In outrage I asked does no one here where hair nets and she replied āI donāt need to I lacquer my hairā. We then had one of the chefs walk by us in a bit of a huff and insincerely said āsorry about thatā as heās walking out of the cafe, which made us feel all the more valued. And then when asking for the bill the waitress just turns from where she was standing in the cafe and said āno chargeā. Now while I appreciated the gesture, nothing was sincere. No professional apology, no offer of anything else alternative. A disgrace. So I have no idea why this has a 4.9 rating because the service was a joke with a clueless waitress, and the food was subpar, I had more flavour in the cold sandwich I had to get from the co-op because I was still hungry. Thank goodness for them Iām not a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter reading a review from Jamie I honestly think that guy was just looking to cause trouble. After just attending with my mam and 2 children and even our dog, this little cafe is truly wonderful. Extremely friends staff who were not only great with the children but also give our dog a few treats. My children are very fussy eaters and have ate every last bit of it , my son over the moon that the cheeseburger had real cheese rather than āplastic cheeseā. Food was truly incredible and cooked to perfection. I had the avocado on toast and it was matched with the perfect amount of siracha sauce. Food was unbelievable and service was outstanding. Would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe popped in early on a Saturday morning and both had the Full Scottish and it didnāt disappoint, lorne, link, black pudding and haggis with a potato scone and mushroom, all very good.
A couple of slices of toast rounded out the breakfast, the haggis and link sausage in particular were great.
Coffee was good and a nice cuppa tea, definitely worth popping into. Brunch menu starts at 10am which had some promising items too.
They also had a selection of cakes, croissants and slices which appealed.
All in, tasty and good value,...
