Lovely little pub. Fantastic food. Great service. Gluten free options for most menu items. Dog friendly (they have a jar of treats on the bar!). Friendly, helpful staff. Arriving as cold wet campers we were shown to the fire immediately, and there was no pressure to 'eat up and get out'. Booking is essential though, as the dining area is small and it's obviously popular. They are dog aware when seating customers as well.

Popped in for a short break as Ic drove us through the Scottish borders. First time in Coldstream; home of one of the great British Guards Regiments. Thus the pub has lots of associated memorabilia. Flic loves the red jacket. ( I think each Guards regiment has their own button arrangement along with insignia.) Nice two room pub. One real ale on. Very good pint of Deuchars.3.8%. IPA. Cask Marque pub.

Had a really enjoyable late lunch here. Staff were really lovely and welcoming nothing too much of a problem. The meals we had, steak pie and mushroom pasta in a creamy peppercorn sauce were to die for as were the deserts we had chocolate fudge cake and raspberry roulade. We'll worth stopping off even if it's just for a coffee

OMGGGG....... What a gem of a find. We were visiting Coldstream for a few nighs and visited the Besom Inn on Sunday for a beer after a long very enjoyable walk, We booked a table for dinner as I had read that the food was very good. OMGGGG the Sunday Roast dinner did not dissapoint. Great portion size. We were given a choice of Beef/Chicken or Gammon....Myself and my wife both chose Gammon. The Gammon was to die for the Cauliflower and cheese was amazing. All of the veg was extremely fresh.

Now for the main event for me. BANOFFEE Roulade with custard..............Amazing.....I had to stop myself from licking the plate clean.............The wife had Caramel Apple tart and ice cream.........She wwas in heaven... All of the food was cooked to the highest standard......Hats of to the chef.

Ps all staff very friendly and the actual bar is so so welcoming.

This is an excellent pub to visit if you're in coldstream. It is beautifully decorated with loads of interesting items , mainly relating to the coldstream guards . The pub and toilets are spotless. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They offer a wide range of food and drink . The menu has a wide range of excellent home cooked food. I had dirty fries followed by the most amazing chocolate fudge cake I think I have ever tasted with a choice of accompaniments . My husband had the homemade steak pie again with a choice of accompaniments. We had a lot of tea which was refilled whenever we needed it. It really was homemade too !!! As stated on the menu. Group of us with couple of kids went here after hearing great reviews about food . We came from South Ayrshire heading to Northumberland and stopped in on way . Can only say will NEVER be back . The dirty looking man behind bar was annoyed at us for not knowing straight away what we would like to drink . He was rude, impatient and said something nasty to a local man at bar to which they both laughed . Then when asked if we could have the steak pie the cook replied NO I dont have any , I have been busy you know ! Not very friendly at all . Will NEVER step foot in here again . Dirty looking rude staff NO THANKS . Much nicer places in coldstream to...
